Hello everyone, I'm a long time reader at MMORPG and I've always wanted to contribute to the community as a whole - as well as the community of one of my most anticipated release.
With that in mind, I wrote a guide/primer for the new players in the upcoming beta weekends. Hopefully this will be help for new players eagerly wanting to make most of their weekend to experience the game and help out Anet. This guide is directed to newer players along with the values of freedom in GW2. Best of luck in Tyria.

I had to put it on a blog in order to allow for more pictures.
I would like to thank my guild for helping with this guide and starring in many of the pictures.
Hopefully this guide isn't too awful and can be of help to someone!

That looks very nice! I just breezed through it though and will read it all first thing tomorrow with my coffee. Thank you.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
Hmm. I think I'll do the same.
Offtopic question: are the achievements we saw in the stress test all there is?
Here's a few useful tips I can add:
-Right-click your helm in the Hero panel and choose "hide" if you don't want your helemt showing.
-Got tons of crafting mats cluttering your inventory? right-click->send to collection will put them in that special bank tab, from anywhere in the world!
-Buy salvage kits. LOTS. You will constantly get things like "old rags" that can be salvaged for materials.
Nice!

You may not post much, but you certainly make it count when you do. Well done.

I browsed through it a bit, looks very informative and well written. Would have helped me a lot before I played
Good job, sir.
Nice information.
OP, great job.

Kyleran: "Now there's the real trick, learning to accept and enjoy a game for what it offers rather than pass on what might be a great playing experience because it lacks a few features you prefer."
John Henry Newman: "A man would do nothing if he waited until he could do it so well that no one could find fault."
FreddyNoNose: "A good game needs no defense; a bad game has no defense." "Easily digested content is just as easily forgotten."
LacedOpium: "So the question that begs to be asked is, if you are not interested in the game mechanics that define the MMORPG genre, then why are you playing an MMORPG?"
Very nice. I even learned a couple of things
anyone know if we'll be able to continue playing with our characters from the previous BWE1 & stress test or will we have to start from scratch?
There will be no wipes for characters this between the upcoming weekend and previous events.
Nice contribution, concise and to the point. Thanks for the tip on the weapons .........very useful
I enjoyed your primer and learned some things that I didn't know and now plan to use. Your guide is very well written and easy to understand. This is a good read for anyone looking to play in the next beta.
Thanks...this is a winner!
Thanks for the support everyone. If anyone has any suggestions for upcoming guides, I'll look into it.
Very interesting. Thank you for putting that together.
I agree, good stuff!
This is an excellent blog, "game guide" worthy yet offered for free!
Thank you for your time researching the game and your post here, evilandrex!
