I am currently looking for a game to fill the void until GW2. I am mostly looking for a F2P game, but I came across Rift for $5 (I know there is a subscription). If I do decide to buy Rift, I would probably play it for 1-2 months depending on GW2's release date. Should I buy Rift, even though I will only be playing it for a few months? And how much content should I be able to see if I play for 5-8 hours a day?
P.S. I also play WoW, and I heard that Rift is pretty much a WoW clone

If you are seriously playing for 5-8 hours every single day, you will probably see all the content Rift has to offer except for maybe the top tier raids in 2 months.
Anyway, I thought Rift was a fun game, and I think it's perfect for a month's diversion. It is very much like WoW, you're right on that, but the class system is a lot of fun IMO.
Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?
Also i would advise you to stay away from it if you only intend to play it for a month or two, it's a bit of a late blooming game and you wouldn't really get to the fun stuff in that time IMHO.
Rift is really nothing like WoW, about the only similarity is the 2 waring factions concept which trion seems to be stepping away from. Rift is more like a polished combination of several different MMOs in the market with it's own unique twist. I've been playing MMOs for over 10 years now & I've never seen a company as dedicated to keeping a game fresh & interesting as Trion has.
Rift has tons of content and more coming every month, the game has great endgame and an expansion that will want you to come back. So yes, play the game. lol
Definatley worth trying, has by far the best developers in the industry. Also an expansion is coming in 5 months or so
Rift is a great value as far as a subscription game. It's one of few that hasn't gone F2P or been abandoned.
Word of caution, watch out for "bargain" keys. I've heard of a few sellers that are scams. If in doubt ask around to see if the seller is legit. $5 isn't a bargain if you don't get what you paid for.
