Just saw this on the GW2 facebook page when looking for info on the big client update(there isnt any).
They look pretty awesome, but the mouse doesnt seem very functional. Cant really tell from the pictures but it looks like just a standard 5 button mouse, rather than an MMO mouse, which is a shame.
Edit: Scratch, that, the info says its got 7 programmable buttons....

Yeah, it's unergonomic "basic" mouse for both hands (lefties and righties) thus the 7 buttons, but a mere gw2 logo doesn't warrant a 69 euro pricetag imo, i rather take razer naga or naga hex, for less
I can't vouch for steel series promotional products but as for razer, that's a different story.
Ever since I got fooled into getting my current set of razer products I can easily say never again will they get a penny from me.
This mamba is crud, the s/w has something seriously wrong with it, my nostromo is an overpriced and less functional version of my n52 and i can't even remember the name of the keyboard I got because I had to instantly take it back three times (three seperate products) because it failed to function properly.
So buyer beware Razer and don't lose your money following the 'razer hype'.
We really need separate forums for every newly launched game. There can be the anti-<MMO> one and there can be the 'what general discussion should be' one. All the lamenting can happen together where each can find solace in like minded can't-move-on-ers leaving the rest of us to actually move forward and discuss meaningful and relevant topics.
i have Razer's Deathadder. its scrollwheel broke after about 6 months of moderate gentle use. i read about people's Nagas breaking after a year or less. the only Razer product i can recommend is their mechanical keyboard. the mice are cheaply constructed it seems.
Logitech's g9x has lasted people over 2 years. it's such a sweet mouse. i bought it for GW2.
It did take me a few weeks to get comfortable with it. After that though I would never go back. So many keybinds within easy reach.
I also have no major complaints about their headset. It is the only headset I have bought that has yet to stop working. The one minor complaint is that they are heavy and bulky.
What's the keyboard look like? Because right now it's the only think looking to be slightly worth it. I've got the SteelSeries mousepad for Rift (which looks much better) and the Razer Naga Molten (again, better look and utility).
The mouse has one great utility to it: Left-hand or Right-hand. I'm left handed and find that I wish there were more mice for that because I'm faster reactor and just overall better with left than right. Damit I wish Razer was like that.
I will try their mousepad, because Eir is fantastic. But I won't be getting the other stuff, both because I don't need new peripherals right now, and because I don't really like them that much. Now, a logitech Gwhatevernumbertheyareonnow keyboard with some Guild Wars design on it, I might be interested.

I concur, when your after a good gaming mouse, go logitech or razer, BUT i do have to say, steelseries has some of the best headsets on the market (that's what the company was based on to begin with alongside gaming surfaces)
terrible sensor with acceleration and prediction. mousepad which is... well, a mousepad. sadly gets worn out quickly. a headset with unimpressive sound, but that goes for all headsets. No thanks. I'll stick with zowie AM or razer abyssus and puretrak for mousepads and sennheiser for proper headphones.
I've been using the Steelseries Cataclysm mouse for about a year now and had no issues with it. I hate a mouse with just 1 or 2 programmable thumb buttons or thumb buttons that are difficult to find/press, so this one was the best I found as far as that. All 5 thumb buttons are easy to distinguish and find/press (I have all 5 of my weapon skills just on my thumb!).
The buttons to either side of the normal buttons and the ring-finger button take a bit of getting used to but now that I have, I feel limited using a mouse without them.
My only complaint is the software is tailored for WoW keypresses so if you can't use the macro programming (GW2 seems to ignore mouse macros) you have to find the WoW equivalent keypress command. It's not a major thing since WoW has a command for pretty much every key on the keyboard, but you have to look up what the WoW command is for that keypress (or do trial and error until you find it).
It also has 10 different profiles you can save, so no more having to reprogram your mouse when you change games and want to use different keypresses.
Note that this mouse doesn't suffer from the problems that their WoW MMO gaming mouse does with the finish rubbing off.
I'm surprised at them going with Steelseries for the merchandising. I'm not sure where their reputation with peripherals came from, especially mice, but the two products i've had from them have felt very cheap and more designed for people with small hands. Their software updates are also abysmal as in they hardly exist.
I wouldn't buy a mouse just for the logo, I'm more than happy with my G9x I've been using for 3 years now (previous mice I owned never laster longer than a year).
For the mousepad the real dealbreaker is the color, I avoid white like the plague. I'm like the man in black (I only have 2 non-black pcs. of clothing which I never wear) and even my hardware matches that color scheme. Because I eat, smoke, drink and sometimes even sleep at my pc you can imagine how disgusting that mousepad looks after a weekend of intensive GW2 play. Unless it's a metal pad like my current one.
That said I'm eagerly awaiting some sort of GW2 goodies to become available (I didn't buy CE because I'm not a big fan of charr so the statue isn't my thing) so maybe the KB depending on the specs.

Yes it can be.

Love their I-2 gaming pad but I highly doubt I'll ever purchase any other poduct of theirs.
You stay sassy!
The color scheme and overall design is quite pretty. But it'll be a cold day in hell when I change my MX518's.
I'd rather spend the money on the cash shop (sacrilege!).
The only problem is that they are white.
You have any idea what that mouse is going to look like after a weekend of intense playing?
Exactly. That was my first thought as well. Seems like these are more for collectors or for showing off at a LAN party, than for daily use.

The good news is that you'll have your entire guild wars 2 battlestation ready to go while you sit and watch the login screen
logitech all the way for durability. also, g9x has 9 buttons and weights and it's at about the same price as those crap ones.
Bought the 1st Edition WoW mouse 2-3 years ago from SteelSeries.............complete junk.
Razer ever since.

I don't know about their promotional products. However I love their gaming keyboard.

Agreed, Razer and Logitech is where its at. I got the Razer naga 2012 and loving it! :-)

I have three G500s and have no inclination on changing to a all white mouse Steel series is good from what I hear though but it's WHITE

Edit - typo
Pretty and all when new, but white is an awful colour for gaming hardware...
I would like to get my hands on that Eir mouse mat
Guild Wars 2 Youtube Croatian Maniacs
