Red 5 Studios has announced that today marks the first release of a manga series dedicated to Firefall. The series is written by Orson Scott Card Emily Janice Card with artwork provided by UDON Comics. The plan is for weekly issues to be released through 2013.
Firefall Affinity is a sci-fi journey through a bleak, apocalyptic vision of future Earth. As a prequel to Firefall the game, the manga begins just before the catastrophic “Arclight incident” unleashed the Melding upon the planet. Readers will follow a rebellious, seventeen-year-old “gifted” girl named Pilgrim, who’s struggling to come to terms with her growing power as she attempts to survive the most devastating event to ever hit humanity.
Check it out on the Firefall manga site.

o.o these guys seem to have a more then decent budget for indie studio
Wow, how did they get Orson Scott Card to write a comic book based on a video game? I hate comic books but I am tempted...

That was my thought too, i grew up on writers like him.
I know right...they went legendary on that aspect. I'm more an owpvp guy...so I won't play this game, but I appreciate what they are doing for sure.

Thats great! Those guys over at red 5 are doing some interesting things.
I just saw the first 2 pages and....Trespasser wields melee weapons and theres NO melee weapons n Firefall and not even a melee attack.
"you are like the world revenge on sarcasm, you know that?"
One of those great lines from The Secret World
Uh.... Orson Scott Card already has written Video game comics as well as a video game.
he wrote a Dragon Age comic series.
and he wrote Advent Rising
both had controversies associated with them.
I'm curious to see what they complain about this time.
(unless this is sarcasm, then Never Mind!)
So... what makes this a manga, as opposed to a regular old comic book?
I'm not seeing any of the typical stylistic elements associated with manga in those pages...
