While Blizzard is not mentioned in the article the website has referred to Activision Blizzard as just Activision in past articles.
So, Activision and Blizzard about to split up?
Blizzard about to change hands yet again?
Ramifications for WoW and Titan?

I will play no more MMORPGs until somethign good comes out!
I don't think it would mean the splitting of Activision and Blizzard, I do think that if any company were to buy a majority share then it would end up being one of the Asian power houses.
EA buys Blizzard, that would be interesting.

EA isn't big enough to buy activision, I don't think they can even afford a 50% share. As for Nexon, even if EA and Nexon both join they once again are still worth less than Activision.
Alright, this is our chance, all you MMORPG.com breadwinners! It's time to own Activision! Send me all your money and I'll buy the shares. I'll put Cuathon, Teala, MMOExposed, DarkPony, Wizardry, and one of those spammers on the board and we can get to work making a full loot pvp hello kitty game.
Oh wait.

Activisions market cap is around $13 billion, Vivendi owns 61% of that - in my opinion far too big an acquisition to be made by any gaming company.
If Vivendi sells all or parts of the stock it might be that they float some or sell it to institutional investors outside the core gaming industry. Can't see any company mentioned in this thread picking up much of it.

Microsoft buy blizzard.
They make Titan an exclusive to that win 8 app store.
Millions of blizzard fans buy win 8
Couple of years later pc gamers have to put up with the same hassles, problems, being moneytised and prices as xbox gamers.

thats just plain old evil to say that. you should be banned for saying such a evil thing.
selling Blizzard to the Devil.
Well maybe EA the true Devil can inspire a true deal Diablo, and model it after EA themselves since they are the devil.
Philosophy of MMO Game Design
I don't think it would mean much anything to Activision Blizzard. Vivendi has so many businesses that it's much like a holding company who just happens to own the shares now, and Activision Blizzard is so large that the buyer would most likely be another holding company. Only gaming firms that would have financial power to make the purchase are probably Microsoft and Apple, and I highly doubt they want to expand so heavily into gaming business, their focus is elsewhere.
What i don't get is why doesn't Blizz go independent? a powerhouse developers like that should take control of their own publishing. Why do they need anyone else? can anyone explain this ot me? Diablo 3 has broken all sales record and proved yet again that Blizz is on the top. So why not?
I think Shakey Mo's post finger got stuck :P
Ok i understand, i always used to think about this.

To what end? What, you want to take the company back to it's roots? Nah, they have a culture of thrift now... we, as gamers know that profits make better games than passion!
And the billion in profits that WoW makes a year is eaten up by Activision. Blizzard does not get to keep that money.
In fourth quarter 2011 Activision Blizzard had $1.4 billion in revenue but only made $99 million in profit.
Hah you done said put a spammer on the board.
I vote for the guy the other day that mentioned needing a blankie. Anyone that is man enough to admit to that is alright in my book.
Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.
What if we would all empty our piggy banks and buy Blizz together, u gusy?
We could FIRE people, HIRE people, make them launch VANILLA WOW SERVERS, make them add meaningful world pvp to them, nerf Druids and Shamans (just because that yields the best forum drama) and make joining Arena matches a BANNABLE OFFENSE!!!11
Also we could simply spawn items in D3 and sell them on our RMAH ourselves!
Think of the endless posibilities!
edit: Hehe, I now read someone else has beat me to this cunning plan.
My brand new bloggity blog.
I doubt VIvendi will sell Blizzard - it's the department which brings them the most money since 2004!

Last year Activision Blizzard had $4.7 billion in revenue, Vivendi had over $36 billion in revenue.
Blizzard is small beans compared to Vivendi's other subsidiaries like Canal+ and Maroc Telecom.
I happen to live in the native country of Vivendi and I follow that company quite closely. If not for World of Warcraft, the company may have been closed by now. I don't mean "right now", but a few years ago when it had a bad period. And WoW is still one of its major products - a lot of money with very little effort and almost zero hardware, what company wouldn't dream of such a product?
