    Is it unbelievable, that I have eyes? All you have to do is watch a gameplay vid to see that the animations are awful. I'm going in with very low expectations, but maybe...just maybe, I'll be pleasantly surprised by the game's overall experience. I'm using this opportunity to change my mind about the game. I'm not sure how me stating an opinion about an obvious flaw in the game makes it "false". And while I'm at it; can an opinion really be false? It's an OPINION.

     

    Anyways, hopefully Funcom is using their final days before release wisely and correcting some of the game's shortcomings.

     

    I'm happy for you if you think the animations are acceptable, you are either very easy to please, or a time traveller from the year 1996. Obviously Funcom agrees, or they wouldn't be scrambling to add new combat animations and tighten up combat before release. :P

    Btw, those "horrid" animations stands a lot more when you are:

    • not playing, but watching a video
    • only using the two first abilities you get
    • doing the easy content in the starter area
    When you get into the game where you have seven abilities and two weapons you use a lot more and different moves and you avoid the steady repetition of the same moves. You are also busy moving around, trying to avoid AoE attacks and forcing animation delay on the mob.
     
    This also brings me back to the point that while the animations are a bit stackato, they are made that way because the abilities are very fast and precise, you can move while you are attacking and you have to move.
     
    I think Funcom did a bad job with the first few hours of TSW, because they feel you have an hour into the game is much worse than what you have 7-15 hours into to the game, when the ability system with it's states and so on actually starts to make sense. The gameplay is good, which is the important thing for me. Some of the monsters are awesome looking as well, with really fun (nasty) animations.

    Frustrating I can't download it.  Got  the key, went to download and keep getting an error.  Web error says it was missing a parameter.  Weird.  Guess I'll just wait until game releases. Everything I do to interact with my account requires a new login.  Seems fishy.  If the website is a clear indication on how they will release the game, I'm getting more and more concerned.

    Lighttip: Also, as far as I've heard, there should be a problem with one of the browsers out there. I don't which browser it is, but they're working on it. In the meantime, try another browser, or do as Blackbrrd suggested.

    meh not into pay to play betas, that isnt what betas are for, just got the email after putting in my bets key for tsw. What a let down, pre order (spend money) to play in beta................wtf

    What are you on about? Seems you are misunderstanding something. Beta is free...

    Pre order must be a PR thing, of course they would try to make people pre order when testing the game. :)
