Funcom has partnered with MMORPG.com to bring our readers a first look at three of the decks that players will be able to utilize when playing The Secret World. Decks guide players to setting up optimal characters and have the added clothing bonus as well. We've go the Ninja, Executioner and Gunslingers for your viewing pleasure so keep reading!
The Executioner embodies the power of the guided missile. He uses both Fist Weapons and Chaos Magic to do high amounts of damage and is able move quickly about the battlefield. He can capture and Impair opponents with crafty spells and well placed strikes, stunning and rendering them helpless, before letting loose flurries of powerful Burst attacks which hit over and over again.

Chaotic Pull? That's disappointing. With an ability called Wanted in pistols, there better be a pull skill called "Get over here"
Cool stuff. My decks are much better though
This is what makes combat in TSW so awesome and rewarding. You can make anything you can think of. I still remember my first few newbie days in WoW. I bought a morning star for my priest at level 16 and proceeded to melee mobs....
That melee priest is real in TSW!
It's going to be fun seeing the plethora of builds post launch. I just hope they manage to keep the game relatively balanced so there are several hundred viable builds. That would be something to write home about!
Pre-made decks are for sissys. Real getelmen or ladys make their own
I have a build so sick atm. FC should make it a deck!
Yeah man. Really loving my blade/elemental build atm. The cool thing with tsw is that even if you bork your build you can just grind out the points to make something else with the same toon. I'm an altaholic and the thought of making another character hasn't even enterd my mind yet.
Just wait, it will get nerfed! jk
I bet PvP can be interesting, let's say you have just been killed by a guy with a multi-hit build, you switch to a anti-multihit build and wipe the floor with him afterwards, he then switches to a anti-anti-multihit build while you have in the mean time switched to an anti-anti-anti multihit build. I am expecting some mayhem due to the easy deck switching.
So trying this game in this beta weekend. I've read so much about TSW and I can't believe that people are actually likning the game. Maybe FC finally learned from their past mistakes. I'm a huge AoC fan and I think I'll be a huge TSW fan too. :D:D
These builds look great. Trying out this weekend, can't wait to get that urban cowboy look! Seems like I will be spending endless hours trying out builds if I buy this game, PvP could be fantastic.
Just one question. Why are they faction specific? Or at least presented that way?
I think only the costume reward you get when completing the decks are faction specific? Anyone can make the same build, regardless of faction.
The female faces makes me think of one word to describe them:
"ENCHANTMENT!"
You get a virtual cookie if you get it...
This is pretty sharp. I'm going to enjoy finding my own deck. This will be a game in and of itself.
Sandal from the Dragon Age series?
In War - Victory.
In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
Executioner is missing Chaotic Pull in the ability graphics
Well keep in mind using a premade deck unlocks a costume that goes with it.
Quotations Those Who make peaceful resolutions impossible, make violent resolutions inevitable. John F. Kennedy
Life... is the shit that happens while you wait for moments that never come - Lester Freeman
Lie to no one. If there 's somebody close to you, you'll ruin it with a lie. If they're a stranger, who the fuck are they you gotta lie to them? - Willy Nelson
I believe it also grants faction rep points if applicable.
Is it really a game with no classes if it designs itself around the useage of specific templates?
I think my point still stands
I'm pretty sure that unless they unlock the higher tiers of skills during the beta weekend, you won't be able to try the decks out.
Templates are more like examples of builds you can make, it's helpful to see the synergy examples to assist you in making your own, or following theirs, if you want.
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
Short answer: yes. These templates are really there for people who don't like theory crafting or those newer to MMOs that might feel overwhelmed. I've been playing MMOs for about 9 years now and even I found the skill wheel to be a bit intimidating. What makes it truly classless is you're not locked into anything. You have the absolute freedom to go down any path or even change your path at any time.
great now all they need to do is rush to make all combat not look like total garbage compared to GW2 which isn't even coming out first......good luck funcom i predict you won't pull it off
gonna be going hammer and chaos. (changed from blades and chaos, changed from blood and blades, changed from elementalism and hammers..... well you get the picture)
/chaos pull
/hammer to the FACE
I find the hotbar far too small to share 2 classes. When i played the first Beta weekend i focused on Bloodmagic with shotgun as second. This weekend ill focus on Full Blood Magic. Not fond of being limited to 7 skills when i have 500+ to choose from. So yeah If i decide to buy this game I will always be a Full blood magic person. Didnt like the other magics and the weapons are kind of meh. Blood Magic FTW.
