Hry mates,
Wondering at the size of Dust514 and how much space we will need on the PS3 hard drive for the game, updates and room to grow.
My HD is already fit to burst with the required installs for games I own and their save data.nif fact, I own more PS3 games than my HD can hold,..I have to pick what game to uninstall before I can play a new game.
That said, has anyone here upgraded their PS3 Hard Drive? It's just a 2.5 drive, right?
Secondly, how much of a problem might this be for other PS3 owners? I actually forget how large my HD is, but I think it's only double-digits.

I upgraded mine a while ago, it was super easy. you should have no problem and like you said any 2.5 wil work.
Agreed. But I was getting at something else, but sucked at it:-)
CCP will be targeting the MW3/BF3 crowd who currently play on the PS3, perhaps offering them something with a bit more long-term a value. However, as opposed to their PC counterparts, I expect these players did not buy their PS3 with expectations of having to upgrade its components. With that said, I ask if Dust if going to be a multi-gig HArd Drive MMo, like most AAA titles end up being.
If so, how likely might this be a deterrent or out-right dealbreaker to potential players from joining. People like me with hard-drives already fit to burst, but not like me in that upgrading a HDD is not an option. I mean the game will be free, but if it would cost someone cash to upgrade their console....
I guess what I am really wondering is how many PS3 owners are going to run into Hard Drive limitations regarding Dust. Of those potential players, how many would be willing to do something about it? Unlike other PS3 games, it will have no disc and have to be completely downloaded, fully installed, and then have room to grow with future patches and upgrades.
Discuss.

most of us already have 240 gig ssd's in our ps3s, the non chumps that is.
you are aware that 2.5 inch drive is not the right measurement for memory vollume, right?
you should be measuring your drive in MB, GB, or TB (megabytes, gigabytes, terabytes). preferably GB or TB.
As to this writing, I upgrades my PS3 HD with a 2.5" seagate Blue something-or-other drive with 500GB I think at 5400RPM. Kind of nice to not have to fight HD space anymore
