and the exp is going down its tuned up to get you leveling faster,ITES BETA not demo say it with me : BETA
this happend in D3 as well people thought it was the demo its the BETA,the end game is there also but they won't show it
and do not worry about the mesmer they have been fixing it before you guys came, in the "internal BETA"
i say august is the month to be,they wouldn't compete with the console market it will destory them : AC3,black ops 2,and many more
you can't make people pre-purchase and make them wait half a year, now some of you may say people do it all that time, yeah they pre-order which means to RESRVE YOUR COPY and you KNOW THE RELEASE DATE,as with GW2.......its an mmo......there is no copy to reserve *and about that they stopped selling it,no they stopped selling cause they don't want to sell so the don't overload the servers on the BETA*but still i think its either august or next year
sorry for my enlliglish

Its not the races that are not ready, but its the areas they live in.

They weren't even planning on putting them in the BWE's they wanted them to be a surprise. They might put them in the last one. Please do go on though pro beta tester guy.
I had hoped for the end of June, but now with the advertisment for artists by the developers, makes me wonder about some content not being ready. So, now, I just don't know about a release date.
really?
If a company has a game this close to release and is hiring, they are hiring for the future, for another project or for an expansion. There is no way they would hire someone especially an artist to come in now and work on GW2.
The only thing any studio hires this close to release is more QA staff and an in house catering team so that employees never need to leave the studio.

No it's not. Going by the dev posts this past weekend the xp will be tuned up in pve if anything. Not significantly but they seemed to agree that it was slightly off, a post that springs to mind was one saying that people would be hitting 16 instead of 15 at a certain point for example once they tweak it, there was much more to the post including lots of testing feedback but i'm going from memory.
They also stated that xp from WvWvW isn't quite where they wanted it to be yet and they'll tweak that for the next weekend too.
Nice one a speculation thread about speculation threads.
Nobody except Anet and their test team knows the real state and how far they're still off from release. Of course they're holding things back and of course their internal builds are ahead of what we see in a BWE but that still doesn't put a timeframe to it.
Haven't seen anyone saying that they are not ready and therefore release is a long way off. Always we don't know, therefore we don't know how far off release is.
So many posters state their personal speculations as if they are well-known facts obtained through personal insider information. In this case, I agree that the Sylvari and Asura areas are plenty ready, as demonstrated by a few media preview videos from betas where they had access to the zones; but stating that you know exactly why they haven't been available during the general BWEs like you're Colin Johanson's brother remains just as ridiculous.
Link? The theories and rationalizations in this thread are amusing, but still all just speculation at this point. Some retail outlets are still saying the end of June, but in the end ANET will ship when they are ready and they won't give a care whether they make folks wait a year, they know people will just bend over and take it.

Considering there were quotes prior to BWE1 from ArenaNet that said 'they wanted to save something for release' when asked why Asura and Sylvari weren't in BWE1, I'd say it's not exactly speculation. Their tune only recently changed to 'watch this space' days before BWE2.

ANET has said many times GW2 will be this year
the only thing ive heard is they rather not release at the end of the year

They limit the betas to a few races/areas just to keep the permutations minimized when trying to trouble shoot any issues that come up.
The developers seemed to act like the Sylvari were thier favorite lovechild, so I doubt it has lacked attention.
My guess is the biggest unknown they are trying to solve is performance and tuning for the inevitable landslide of users at opening. The last thing they want is a slide show at opening.
Gamestop sold me my pre-order and told me it would be out around June 17th, but I am not gonna hold my breath on that.
I think however if they release much later than August it will hurt them. I can't see them having 'beta weekends for 2 more months.
Exp isn't artificially boosted, that's you making an assumption. Don't state it as fact, it helps no one. They've commented on the exp rates and their goals for it numerous times.
What we see is fairly close to what we'll get on release - they're attempting to tune the xp to a rate they want and to a rate that is relative to the activity it's gained in.
Artificially boosting xp wouldn't help them lock on to the exact rates they're happy with - especially when they (as they've clearly shown), offer artifical level boosts if and when they want certain aspects tested.
Think for a second about how little sense your assumption makes - you think they've boosted xp gains to help them test higher level content apparently, yet they've locked us out of any high level zones...*and* we know they use NPCs to boost players to certain levels if they require specific testing of a higher level area, as they've done before.
As for Sylvari and Asura, they did re-work the models a while ago but the primary reason they've been held back, as stated by ArenaNet, was that those areas were suffering from poor performance and they needed time to correct that.
I'm sure you mean well, and it's nice to have a game to be excited about, but always avoid presenting your assumptions as a fact.
Keep in mind that if the truths not good enough for some, then it's not good enough. Trying to win people over with dubious assumptions presented as fact is of no help to anyone.
I would like to think if the release date is not soon its August/September at the latest. I seen a lot of improvements over BW 1 and the stress test at the last BW.
Yeah, I've seen plenty of threads whining about whining, but this is the first I've seen speculating about speculating. ^^ It's amazing what people will post about when bored.
