The meaning of life?

Whether you choose to speak for your belief on the grand scheme of things or your personal purpose in life, I'd love to hear what people think is the purpose of life.

It's my belief that we are placed here to make our own purpose, I haven't found my purpose yet but for now that is my purpose.

I've heard some people believe the purpose of life is to ease pain and strife, others think its for punishment and justice, whatever you purpose is please share.

I hope this makes a decent topic.

    I don't know what the meaning of life is, quite honestly I wouldn't really want to know. If I spent all my time wondering what the meaning of life is, I would feel like I would be feeling life to accomplish someone else's goa that they made for me. I don't know if that made any sense but i've thought about it a few times and it's pretty hard to explain.

    the "meaning" of life doesnt sound right. would that mean.... "what does life mean?" which is, to be alive. but w/e, i think the meaning of life is to learn. the more you know about the universe and everything around you, science, math, history even, the closer you are to truly understand greater things ::::20::

    I heard somewhere that "The purpose of life is to have a purposeful life."

    I find my purpose in games because they make certain goals clear to you and allow you to reach that goal with more than one way. I hate real life where people gives you specific instructions or wants you to live a certain way. And I hate people who say some [living] people have no life, that's a bs idiom that should be removed forever.

    I think it's a game, to be honest. But a bizarre game. Games that we play are governed by rules, but, I think this one, the object of the game, is to figure out the rules. But what makes it more difficult is that my rules are not necessarily the same as your rules.

    I guess in a way, it's similar to what B-X said, except, in my view, the rules are the purpose and there isn't just one.

    A persons 'meaning' in life is clear. Work, make money and try to enjoy the world around them. But the make money part generally takes up all of your time and you end up hating life so I guess thats the true point of life...Work and die...

    I would say enjoy it and die. The meaning of life is to die. Think about it all we do will in the end result in death.
    Or it's 42 like Douglas Adams said it. Read his books btw, the are great :D

    The meaning of life is to train yourselves to become mech warriors! that's right, once you die here you get transported to sector 42 and get issued a mech. You get to choose from different colors like gunmetal, hotpink, an fusha.

    The question, "what is the meaning of life" is something a philosopher probably made up to get people thinking, when in fact it is just an unanswerable question. Why is it unanswerable? The fact that you can make up a meaning and that everyone has a different meaning. If the case is that a god already set one for you, they you will never know and prove it.

    There for, what came first, the chicken or the egg?

    I say the earth came first >:)
