    Incredible screenshots anarchyart!

    Dark and Light is one of the upcoming mmos that I eagerly await. If it delivers one-tenth of its potential and its promise, oh my is the mmo world going to have one helluva high standard to try and compete with.

    I'm still waiting for a preview from a testers of DnL before I say...There's been no previews that would give us a glance about how the game is and it's release is only month or two away?

    It could be "EQ2.5 - RvR edition" for all we know.

    Yes yes, the graphics look neat and the world is huge...how about a gameplay movie or something?


    I swear EQ2 was the last game I'll ever buy just according to eyecandy screenshots.

    Somehow looking at those graphics I can tell my computer won't like them and everything will be the same bland texture less mush. Either that or I'll get one frame every 10 seconds, or maybe I'm just remembering my bad experiences with 'the hulk'.

     

    Who here remembers The Hulk I have some bad memories there.

    The environment graphics are really nice.
    Some of the textures are plastic though and the characters don't look to good.. but then I'm a spoiled L2 player. ^_^

    Yes lets all hope this game manages to pull off a decent release.

    Now that would actually make me want to play DnL "EQ2.5 RvR edition". that would rule.

    I have some pretty severe reservations about this title, but as always I will wait until it is released (if it is ever released) before I form any opinions whatsoever.

    That's not what he had in mind. What would you like

    A. An average game with great graphics
    or
    B. A great game with average graphics.

    Like the Nippon Ichi games, they all have bland graphics but the gameplay is top-notch.

    Graphics should be the finishing touch that completes a game. Once you're into a game, the graphics aren't that important.

    They sure help, and some of these screens look nice enough, but D&L has shown so many different looks and styles that I'm very skeptical about this title now.

    There should be more games that are about, well, fun and gameplay, and not graphics and looks.

    A. An average game with great graphics
    or
    B. A great game with average graphics.

    well I like graphics as much as gameplay :(

    I remember when I played freelancer my favorite thing to do was explore cuz the sites actually looked cool.

    I usually won't stick with a game that has poor gameplay. But also I won't stick with a game thats visually poor either :b

    Like I stated above I like both, heh, why not have your cake and eat it too ^^

    Now I admit gamplay makes the graphics, not the other way around, IE poor gameplay has more of an impact then poor graphics, I just won't settle for lack of either :b

    Like others who've responded here I have my own reservations about this title and how the development of it seems to be coming along, but hey, any game with a Kraken in it deserves a shot.

    Agreed, except I (and others) have already expressed reservations about the title due to its release - in its current state - in Nov 2005:


    Q: You stick to a release in November 2005. At this date, do you think the game will be finished, or is it because you cannot afford another delay and want to release the game, even if it is not finished?

    A: The game will be released in November because our first objective will be fulfilled in November: a first version of Dark and Light that will allow the most faithful members of our community to be part of the legend of Ganareth, and to add their name to the background.
    We always said that the final goal of DnL was to allow players to put a hand on the game, to have complete freedom, and to be part of the construction of Ganareth. This is what we will offer to you in November 2005.
