Lack of PvP is the least of this steaming pile's problems.

How is that 'killing this game'? o_O

Because less than half than many would even consider buying any expansion now.

Blizzard has literally ruined the franchise.

Don't make me copy paste your post and quote you when they release their new xpac and another 10million buy it.

The game was build around the RMAH and inturn turned drops and everything else into rubish because of it.

PvP was definitely one of the hooks that kept people playing D2 long after they would have normally quit. Another hook was the social aspect that channels and the old battle.net provided. There were a lot of people who were hooked not by the game but by the people they met with and hung out in channels. They would have quit the game and forgotten about it a long time ago if it wasn't for those channels they visited.

"Replayability" is not the issue with D3, because no game can hook people with only "replayability" like D2 did. PvP and the old battle.net hooked people and kept them playing.

The sad thing is that the PvP that will be implemented in D3 will resemble WoW's instanced arenas and/or battlegrounds. Wow mechanics and designs should never have been blended into a Diablo game, and yet it has and it will happen with PvP. Duels on the Blood Moor in a game that stayed open for hours while duelists join and leave... that's where the addicting PvP of D2 was. Unfortunately, the PvP in D3 will never be as fun.

This game has virtually no replayability because the game uses the same exact maps for every single run through of the game.  Diablo 2 at least had random directions to go and different shapes to the maps.  Diablo 3 does not appear to have any of that. Big deal, the monsters that appear on the maps and the exact locations of the quest destinations are sometimes different.  That doesn't make the game any more replayable, even from difficulty to difficulty.

THAT is D3's greatest drawback, IMO, not the lack of people's ability to run around killing other players that are trying to play the game normally.  (Which is genuinely all pvp really boils down to in the long run- greifers killing people that want nothing to do with pvp.)

The game is fun again after patch 1.03. They have fixed the progression problem so now everyone should be able to farm for the best items and complete inferno. I was farming Act 1 Inferno today and I got quite a few good items.

Forgot to add the single setup to be able to win this game, being Main Stat+Vit+Res All.

So you were an exploiter. Whats wrong? upset that you cant break pots and farm chest all day now?

    You are misinformed good sir.

Dungeon layouts, majority of the over world maps, Mob placement & abilities, chests placement & loot are completely random every playthrough.

Half empty half full, picking 3 numbers out of 1-5 is quite different from picking 3 numbers from 1-10000, or the map of central new york vs the map of london, the layout of the outside world is random in a very simplistic way, exits are always at a fixed position, even dungons tend to be in the same areas, there is no exploration, once you enter a map you know exactly where to go, where there will be a event or a dungeon entrance, even in underground dungeons that have something to do with the main quest line.

    Flame on!

really? so you never played D2 closed bnet at all? or did you just play by yourself?

multiplayer in diablo is very dependent on pvp, pvp is what kept D2 going so long for a heck of a lot of people.

pvp has a much much greater effect on replayability than random dungeons. i swear, so many people on here act like they never seen what closed bnet was like.

after a certain point, especially when re-rolling the same class just to change your build or MF'ing, the random dungeons just became a nuisance.

hence why so many people used map hack, it was more rare to find someone that didn't use map hack, it was a borderline necessity, especially if you were a pvp'er.

random dungeons isn't what kept people playing, nor was re-rolling the same class over and over just to see what its like to kill monsters with a new build.

people did that crap because of the pvp. people re-rolled the same class over and over to try different builds for pvp.

pvp is what gave D2 so much replayability, its what D3 severely lacks. without pvp there is no point to leveling multiple characters up and gearing them because there is no pve endgame (unless you play hardcore but that usually drives people to quit eventually).

inferno mode isn't endgame, pvp is the only endgame Diablo has ever had or ever will have.

I have to agree with the OP to a certain extent.  Bored of pve.  Ready to kill some people.
