The Rift team has released the trailer from E3 that shows off the Storm Legion expansion. In addition, Trion has announced that next week will see big changes coming to the game with the arrival of the 3-faction PvP system, Conquest. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Conquest – Choose one of three faction groups for an all-out, cross-shard PvP war in an alternate-reality version of Stillmoor. Battle to control the Sourcestone Extractors, craft engines of war to aid your team, and build up bonuses that last beyond victory
Instant Adventure – Instant Adventure comes to Freemarch, Silverwood, Gloamwood, and Stonefield
Mentoring – Progress your character while helping your friends with low-level content
Barbershop – Change your appearance with a quick trip to the Stylist
New Sliver – Defeat Fae Lord Twyl in Primeval Feast
World Event – Camp out with Summerfest and participate in scavenger hunts throughout Telara

This is how patches should be, Trion continue to put other developers to shame with the shear quality and fullness of updates.
Wow they are really calling out to me to re-sub... especially since Tera may be boring me (granted I'm only level 18 there).
I am as always impressed of their dedication. Really, if they added dynamic events like GW2 and discarded the old fasion quests, I would love to re-sub!

They are really doing a great job with this game, the instant adventures make questing completely optional and the 3 faction conquest... hell yea.
God I can't wait for Storm Legion to come out!

they said they were adding dynamic, non traditional, questing in storm legion. it was seperate from the IAs. they talked about it in at least two of the storm legion interviews i saw so far.

PVP was terrible in this game when I dropped my subscription. It was just some tacked on crap that was only thrown in to pull in the PvP crowd (but they all realised fast that there was no real balancing). I am tempted to go back to see if they actually fixed PvP though. It was a beautiful looking game.
I think it's great we are getting a huge PVP update here, and focused on organized PVP as well... This game really, really needs it. But I feel that unless Conquest takes off and people love it (which I do) they probably won't be focusing on PVP any more in the game. If it proves to be a big hit I can see them expanding on the three faction system and adding many more conquest zones along with making it a big part of the next expansion. Which would be totally amazing...
So for all of our sakes (those who enjoy PVP) let's make conquest awesome!
Yeah, TERA set a new record for me. I actually only played the free trial for an hour before I gave it a pass.
Rift, never quite got to level cap... the balance was just god awful. It felt like they just took 32 darts and threw them at a power chart to determine PvP/PvE balance. Then, every month, they picked up the darts and did it again. It was the way they would turn an overpowered playstyle and not jus tnerf it, but completely obliterate it and make it nonviable. I'd go from soloing 5 yellow mobs in 9-12 seconds to taking 30 seconds to kill 1 and dying to 2, in a single patch, forcing me to relearn a whole new spec.
It was that as much as the crappy balance that drove me away.
