I think it must be the constant mention of Decks I guess.
I thought about TCOS this weekend for the first time in over a year, so you're not the only one. But I'm not sure the connection is any more than what you say here. Even though "deck" means different things in each game, it's definitely a connection. The only other thing I considered is that encounters tended to be more. . . I don't want to say "challenging," but maybe more "work" is the right word? A trash mob in a typical MMO takes one to three presses of a button to eliminate, but in TSW I found myself spending considerably more time on each enemy, even the weaker ones. TCOS was like that, only more so.
EDIT: There's also the combos, which not a lot of MMOs have. Applying a Weakened state, then moving to use an ability that exploited it was a little like TCOS combat. A little.
TCoS was pretty cool but an absolute buggy mess at higher levels and some classes like the blood warrior were virtually unkillable in PvP if someone knew what they were doing. Fun to play though.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

I definitely don't see any relation, at all, between the two titles.
Yes, but I will say I miss it a little ... just a little

Well, in TCOS i was also strafing around the ennemies.
I prefered the rotating skillbar, the debuffing/buffing combat and the 2 layers of cloth/armor in TCOSP. For everything else there is TSW.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
I don't see a coroloation, however, I sometimes miss the crap out of that game. It was so unique.
TCOS had a lot of good things goin for it. Too bad they couldn't get it all together.
Can't say I see a relation at all. Thankfully...
