PlanetSide 2: Internal & External Beta Testing Detailed

The latest PlanetSide 2 producer's letter has shown up with news about how the internal beta testing is going as well as a hint about the upcoming external beta.
External Beta will include primary rounds of entry for existing PlanetSide 1 players and additional External Beta registrants, including those who obtained Beta codes from the PC Gamer magazine cover feature. Playtests will be scheduled during this time to ensure the maximum testing of specific aspects of the game with ever increasing numbers of players. Your participation is extremely valuable to us and we’ll be balancing and revising base layouts based on your feedback. Again, we will be inviting as many of our existing PlanetSide 1 players as we can into the early phases of Beta determined by a number of different factors, including machine type. Rest assured PlanetSide 1 players... you’re top of the list in each phase.

One of the few games I'm looking forward to. So I'm sure I won't get into beta! Waaaah!
Just got this e-mail sorta myself. Came with a survey saying they needed more system info from me in regards to beta, with the note saying planetside 1 players get beta priority invites. Good thing I am a PS1 player :P
I am entitled to my opinions, misspellings, and grammatical errors.
Kinda wished it had destructed environment like bf3.
They gave out thousands of keys on twitter, which should have been given to registrants from months ago. I'm not liking how they are treating long time applicants to random people on a social site.
Just because they got keys doesn't mean there in on the first waves.
PM before you report at least or you could just block.
Looking forward to this one.
It has a distinctive selling point, and doesn't try to please everyone.

EQ doesn't need PvP like PS2 doesn't need PvE, I hope they have the same courage.

Is that just current Planetside 1 players, or does it include past players as well, that is what I am curious about. I was in closed beta for the original and played for several months before I had to quit. I loved the game immensly until the lackluster expansion came out.
And what if said people getting keys are long time applicants huh?
i've been watching the E3 streams so much cause the game is so so sweet and now i received a mail to let them know my system spec ... hope i get chosen right from the start

You don't really get marketing do you...
As for the "current players" i would be very carefull with the feedback from that group. They might be slightly hostile to change and stuff. This makes the "outsiders" very important to get a balanced veiw of the game and to offer feedback on the new player experience, something that the "old-timers" can not provide even if they wanted.

Secondly, Tawess, you have no clue.. Original players are the ones with the knowledge of what works, what doesn't and how it should really play, what is balanced , what isn't, then an 'outsider' comes along from mw3 or bf3 and starts whining about how this should have been different or this doesnt seem right, devs listen to the dribble of the infant if only to shut it up and it ends up ruining the Core of the game, it kills the heart of it, of what it is meant to be.
