    Suzie

Why do games with no RPG get coverage on MMORPG?

  • GrafbendaGrafbenda Member Posts: 51

Well it is a MMO and WOT's is wildly successful...

Because it's a great game, and likely has lots of rpg'ers playing it.

In EU and Russia the playerbase is huge, on the NA server it's around 25K concurrent users.

Any game that promotes feeding endgame content (tanks) with mid game content (tanks) is lacking in my book.  Guess it depends on that you call success.

Denying it's success is being ignorant. Games can be successfull even without your consent :).

Also, the system makes sure that most tiers of tanks are being played, otherwise everyone would be at Tiers 9-10 and the rest would be ignored. Early and mid Tiers are extremely fun, since this is about tanks and not "endgame".

Yet you dismiss my opinion of "successful" with your opinion of "successful".

"The system" as you call it should have nothing to do with what tier tanks are being played, that is where I see non success.

Also invite you to read Snib's post (he plays on EU server) on the Official forums for "this success"

    • Total accounts:
      • The NA server has nearly 1.99 million accounts, that's only 130k new accounts since the last snapshot.
      • The EU server has over 3.19 million accounts, continuing the very strong growth already seen in the last snapshot with an increase of 414k accounts in the last three weeks, considerably more than even the Russian server!
      • The Russian server has over 6.44 million accounts, that's 290k new accounts since the last snapshot.
      • The SEA (South-East Asian) server has only 26k accounts.
      • I have no information about the 2 Chinese servers, but if Wargaming's recent official numbers of 24 million registered accounts world-wide are correct, then the Chinese servers alone are bigger than the rest of the world combined with over 13 million registered accounts.
All data below is only for the NA server.

    • Played accounts: 861 664 accounts have played at least one game, 99 052 more than last month. That means 51.6% of all accounts that were created have never been played.

    • Getting hooked: Of those that played at least one game, 36.45% never even played as many as ten games.

    • Battles played: The average number of battles per account continues to rise and is now at 657, or 1600 for those having played last snapshot. Looking only at players having played more than 100 battles, the average is 1639, or 2347 for those having played last snapshot. Let's look into the amount of battles the players have played in some more detail:
      • at least 1 battles: 861 664 accounts, 289 241 of them having played last snapshot
      • < 10 battles: 314 343 accounts, 45 635 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 100 battles: 339 749 accounts, 196 184 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 500 battles: 195 579 accounts, 144 955 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 1000 battles: 141 656 accounts, 115 261 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 2500 battles: 72 558 accounts, 65 526 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 5000 battles: 28 069 accounts, 26 784 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 7500 battles: 10 830 accounts, 10 566 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 10000 battles: 4 022 accounts, 3 954 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 12500 battles: 1 500 accounts, 1 486 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 15000 battles: 509 accounts, 506 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 17500 battles: 186 accounts, 184 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 20000 battles: 69 accounts, 68 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 22500 battles: 23 accounts, 23 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 25000 battles: 9 accounts, 9 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 27500 battles: 4 accounts, 4 of them having played last snapshot
      • > 30000 battles: 1 accounts, 1 of them having played last snapshot
    • Player retention remains high, with 33.57% of all accounts that ever played a game being active during the last snapshot, and 81.37% of all accounts having played more than 1000 battles.

    • Account naming: 185 127 (9.29%) of all accounts begin with the letter s, followed by the letter m with 150 052 (7.53%) accounts. At the end of the spectrum are 1 204 (0.06%) accounts beginning with the numeral 8. I find this interesting, because despite all language differences the popularity distribution is very similar between NA, EU and RU server. Talking about numbers, out of all accounts ever having played a game, 38.87% (334 902 accounts) contain at least one numeral in their name.

Also I was addressing the NA server not the EU or Russian server and it is about endgame why do you think every new Premium worth a crap has been Tier 8?  That's endgame battles.

    Back to OP's topic.

Wow, that sure was a long winded way to say 'if its not a success in NA, its not a success'. Ignorance is a reason but not an excuse.
