Hello everyone, in less than 24 hours, those of us who preordered, will be playing The secret world as of tomorrow.
For those of you who have found a spark of excitement with this game as I have, and for those of you dedicated to the game, especially those who have paid for lifetime subscriptions, I think the following statement is in order to make the game a success;
While playing the secret world as of tomorrow, there is going to be a said bunch of people who are going to speak negatively about this game, even though theyve paid for it !!! Please try not to get worked up about the negativity that some people will do in General chat as of tomorrow. Try instead to just accept some people are not having the same experience as you will. Also if you can, try to get into the hang of helping people out in general chat who ask for assistance. People who arent enjoying the experience, if you can instead of firing back attacks at them, try to help them enjoy the expeirnce instead!
One of the best parts of original mmos, was the general attitude of the mmo gamer towards helping others with issues. I know personally if someone asks for help, nowadays I struggle more to assist people. However, the more helpful you can be to people needing asistance, and the less affected you are by people who will slander this game. The better overall experience we will have with this game. Try to play the game for others as welll as for yourself, help out in group quests, even if you gain no benefit from it. Thats how you build friendships and enjoy a great mmo experience!
This game has true potential to keep us playing for the months ahead, and if we can be a class of people who assits people where we can, do group quests with others etc, EVEN IF YOU DONT BENEFIT FROM IT, then the better the experience will be for everybody. Try not to treat this game as a personal solo grind and instead make time to talk to people in the game in a nice way, try to help others as much as you can and youll gain happiness from it. Try to find ways to communicate in a positive way, there is piles and piles of people all going to be on one server from tomorrow, people you have never met before. The idea of a mmo is to get to play with other people, within a massively multiplayer experience. The idea is to enjoy this experience as much as you can , because youve paid to come on board too
Try to make the game friendly if you can, if you see someone on screen being atacked by tons of enemies, help them out etc.
This could be a good mmo ongoing, if we treat this mmo as a multiplayer experience, even if you intend to solo the game, try to be different, try to help someone in need, or send someone a nice tell message etc. If you can try not to make the game a personal experience only, and help people out as much as you can, be friendly and enjoy yourself, thats the key to enjoying mmos which are essentially games for loads of people to meet and adventure together! MMOS in essence are people meeting programs, where we not only get to chat in the same room as each other, but get the chance to adventure together, and grow amazing experiences within the adventure ahead.
Lastly for those guilds out there, for those alredy formed etc, please accept that not everyone wishes to chat on teamspeak or ventrillo within the game. If your forming a good guild please accept some people wish not to talk on these speech software programs. I personally find it hard to play a mmo while people are yapping on teamspeak or ventrillo, I cant follow whats being said all the time, I cant work out the differences between everyones voices. Make your guild not just a teamspeak or bentrillo only guild, unless you specifically let people know in general tab, that you request people to chat on teamspeak. For the best guilds, try a mix of both types of people, be happy with those who chooose to experience the game without the chatting live. Also Some people have confidence issues and would rather just be in a guild but in guild chat while they assist the guild in that way.
Remember when making a guild, you can also help those people outside the guild with anything they ask for. By helping outsiders in a nice way, by just helping them with quests even if you dont need the quest, is a way to build a new friendship with someone, they could be a candidate even for your guild!
Ok enough of this, I cant wait to play this as of tomorrow, ive just completed crysis warhead expansion just in time for Secret world tomorrow. Lets all have a good time, and try help those who are not enjoying it too. There is no reason why secret world cannot be a successful multiplayer experience, sometimes the greatest expeirence within a mmo is not the game itself, but the people you meet on these fabulous mmo experiences
Looking forward to meeting you alll as of tomorrow, if you have not preordered it yet, I advise you to do it so you dont miss out on the first few early access days of this awesome game.
If your a Guild wars 2 fan youll be pleased to know that the official release date of Guild Wars 2 is 28th of August, which gives everyone who wishes to play Guild wars 2, 2 full months to play this game as well. There is no reason for you to sit frustrated for the official release of Guild wars 2, you could pass the time very quickly by coming aboard this game for the next 2 months.
Happy days ahead, even if in the secret world mmo its said that dark days are coming lol Lets kill some friggin zombies!
Have fun everyone

I'd advise turning off chat entirely aside from LFG. The crowd that plays every new MMO and then leaves within a month or two are intolerable.
amen the general chat is like reading through mmorpg and gamefaq forums ;P i just turn it off and continue with my gaming troll free
Its called being excited about a product, you should try it instead of acting like a jaded troll.
TL;DR
But ill say this... When ever you play a new game. STAY OFF THESE FORUMS! and pretty much every other game forum out there.
The only people comming here to write are the people that are disapointed or the like.. all the happy people are... well playing:P
It can be hard to stay possitive about a game if you read page after page only fokusing on the negatives (some of which you didnt even know bothered you).. so for your own sake.
Stay off forums and make up your own mind:)

You can also play the game like any single player RPG and turn the chat off....
Now doesn´t that sound like total nonsense to you?
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
Thanks for the post.. That's pretty much how I plan on coming intot his game. If I can contribute to a community that will become more and more like how I knew Anarchy Online's community to be in its heydays...then I'll do all that I can!
Bring on the energy drinks and lack of sleep! Here here!
Oh, I'm prepared alright...
My partner has already agreed to be my love slave and hop in the car for trips to Starbucks for my coffee while I sit my ass in front of my PC and play me some Early Access.
'as of tomorrow' x5.
Hehehe.
Yeah, I've been marking papers all day and can't switch off
Trying to purchase now hope I will be able to get in still. Fingers crossed .....
I disagree completely, then again im super good at disagreeing bwaahhaa ... anyway. I feel this is one of the best sites to come to regardless if you like or hate a game. My reasoning is that there are a lot of people that have pretty good arguements.
If you really like or really hate a game I find this forum helps temper your mentatlity. There is a lot of people here that bring up good points and constructive criticism as long as you are open minded enough to listen.
I know this is one of the first places I visit if I am on the fence with a game and take my time reading through everyones posts to QC my decision. You would be surprised how much knowledge can be gained by listening to your peers.
Totally forgot to reply to OP ROFL. Anyway, TLDR would be great here btw. I read it anyway but yeah TLDR next time would be awesome. Good input, but sadly I fear it is wasted on many deaf ears here.
I'm looking forward to a break from these forums tbh hehe. Its been a couple months since Ive had an mmo to play and I've been spending entirely too much time around here.
I sit on a man's back, choking him and making him carry me, and yet assure myself and others that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his lot by all possible means - except by getting off his back.
It kinda leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
They're right though. Game launches, suddenly only posts and threads bashing the game are seen because everyone who enjoys the game is playing it. Seems to happen with every launch.
.. But in a good way.
T - 19:06... but who's counting? Arcadia here I come

That and most of the people who stop playing an mmo dont come here and start a bunch of "Why I left" threads.

I'll be in Arcadia as well

Just to make my day, my gaming rig died when I switched it on after work today
Panic mode !! Omg, Early Access starts in less than 24 hours, what am I gonna do now ?
Soon my livingroom was strewn with PC parts and tools. Eventually narrowed it down to a faulty power supply. Some quick surgery on my other PC resulted in a transplant and all is well again
Busy doing a fresh install of the release client.
Arcadia bound, and whistling as I go...
