Per Funcom instruction, I started by beta launcher, but I am getting this error.
"The update process did not complete succesfully. Please try again or contact Funcom Customer Service."
Am I the only one or others are seeing same issue?

Here is the message that is being displayed in the client.
ATTENTION: The developers are currently patching the client. This is causing some customers to have issue patching or downloading the TSW client. We are aware of this issue and are currently working to resolve it. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you, and thank you for your patience and understanding.

There's an announcement on the official forums saying they're patching right now and this will cause problems for some:

For me the patching won't even start.

Anyone know what time the head start is suppose to start?
It's crazy what people complain about. The open beta client has been around FOREVER (over a month) to download. It is the same client as the live launch. Even if you uninstalled and wanted to reinstall for a "clean" start you could of done that over the past week. Waiting to the last minute to download 30 gigs ...not a smart idea.
If you haven't noticed they have been patching the server TWICE a day working their butts off. I would of bet the farm in Vegas that they were going to patch the night before launch. They stated they are patching. Downtime is 4 hours *it's been 3*, it will be up very soon and then you guys can do your last minute downloading. Mine will be whatever the last patch was, not the entire damn game because I waited to the last minute.

Grand Master Pack will get access on June 29th even earlierI

I don't know what "even earlier" means in terms of specific times...but I'm sure it will tempt some people
You haven't bought the game so stop worrying about us? there is still time for game to go live and it is not like we have to download 10 gb of patch to play.
If you have open or closed beta client, the patching needed for live should not be that much though. I guess it's also possible to patch up using their TestLive servers. LocalConfig.xml file might be on the account page still.
If you have to patch up the entire game and they have patching issues.. that's a bit hard to swallow. Agreed.
I havent paid much attention to the game at all, didnt bother with betas, etc. I made a last minute decision tonight to preorder. Its the only time I have ever been unable to download a client because of a patch. Not a huge deal as I wont be able to play til late night friday, but Im sure Im not the only one that just decided to preorder today.
Kind of excited to go in blind. I know little about the game but what I do know sounds interesting and Im sure Ill get my 50 bucks worth.
Well I got the Grandmaster but still not in but its only 3am here
SO, did they solve the patching problem?

The patcher has only been down around 4 hours. There is an update by
For those who just bought them game I can understand your frustration but from Japan I was getting a 1mb download (stationed in Okinawa), I am sure you will be able to tear thru the download in a few hours if your anywhere in America and your download speed is good.
LOL! People who bought the game yesterday will have several days to patch up anyway, as they gonna do a staggered Early Access, like with SW:TOR. So they won't get in today anyway!
So what is the problem again?
Thanks for the update,
I live in Europe and i have a 100 mbit connection, so 1 mbit feels like the stoneage to me, they really need to deliver speeds between 20 and 30 mbit to sattisfy most Europeans these days, everything slower is just not of this age. Espescially with gameclients of this size.

Thats not what they said when i bought the game yesterday.. they promissed everyone early acces 3 days in front that prepurchased the game.

It has been said on the official forums for quite a while now that they gonna do a staggered launch!
The Preorder FAQ always stated that you would get up to 4 days of early access, with a minimal of 1 day depending on time of pre-ordering.
At least Funcom learned from EA/Bioware's mistake by witholding the staggered release till the very last moment and are upfront about it!
oh well starting to get the feeling its another par for the course funcom launch
I will get you a quote. 3 days of early access if only for lifetimers and people who preorder as soon as it was available. After that it will be tiered based on when you preordered, but either way it will only be a few hours difference according to the developer lead.
Every account eligible for Early Access will receive an e-mail at the time when the account is opened up for access so make sure you check your e-mails frequently on June 29th.
The community manager has been saying that in various topics people started this week.
They will try get everyone in on the first day, depending on the amount of people who pre-ordered.
But either way... it is going to be staggered! They don't want everyone hammering the login servers at the first minute, so they gonna spread people out.
You have to wait for an email from Funcom telling you, you are activated and allowed to log in.
Pretty much exactly like the Early Access process EA/Bioware did with SW:TOR.
EDIT: And I rather wait a couple hours longer myself (as I only preordered last month myself) and have a smooth login and gameplay, then playing the Login connection time out game for hours like with other MMO releases!
LOL! It's actually the other way around! EA/Bioware witheld the staggered release until the last moment!
There was a huge outrage for a reason back in december lol!
The moment I pre-ordered last month I knew it was 1 up to 4 days depending on pre-order time. So how come I knew that already last month when I pre-ordered myself?
And like I said... I rather wait a couple hours longer and have a smooth login experience, then having to play the "Connection Time Out" game with the login server for hours and hours to get in, like with other MMO launches.
yea only problem witth that is as a grandmaster does he mean Ill get an email in 15 minutes or 5 hours.. grrr.
Was about to think this myself...
So yes everyone will have access today at 16.00GMT at the latest and some will get in earlier than that..
I think at one point they wehre planning a staggered roll out over a few days but the beta weekends went so well they probally realised there was no need.
The website says clearly 3 days early acces for everyone

For the OP, I just tested the two different localconfig files and when I logged in the early access client it gave the information you said. But when I put in the testlive localconfig file, it said they are adding 4 more hours, so 8 hours total of patching. SO.. from being in the closed beta I can say that while they patch or put servers down, there is no downloading, which would mean your game client will "stall" for that patch time. hope this helps abit with the discussion.
