First time ever I'm going to have a main prof for each race.
Human Guardian
Charr Engineer
Norn Warrior
Asura Gurdian
Sylvari Ranger/Thief pending.
Co proofessions Memser and elementalist - races pending.
I also might have extra races for with different proffesions. I.E Charr Warrior, Human Ranger/Thief, Norn Ranger, Asura Engineer, Sylvari Warrior/Mesmer.
Whoops, I left out Necro I'm going with SYlvari most likely.
Different Build focus for each.
I might get banned for this. - Rizel Star.
I'm not afraid to tell trolls what they [need] to hear, even if that means for me to have an forced absence afterwards.
P2P LOGIC = If it's P2P it means longevity, overall better game, and THE BEST SUPPORT EVER!!!!!(Which has been rinsed and repeated about a thousand times)
Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.

At the moment no clue but it will probably be a Warrior. I enjoyed the Thief i nthe 1st BWE but they severely nerfed them and I dont like the fact its very easy to accidently trigger multiple skills due to spammy button mashing.
I think I might try a DW Dagger Elementalist in the last BWE to see if I like it but I doubt I will
Playing: GW2 Waiting on: TESO Next Flop: Planetside 2 Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.
A short norn warrior definitely - I prefer the female norn faces and hairstyles to humans. Thought I'd be playing a caster before the beta weekends, but to my surprise, I fell in love with the warrior. I'll probably make a guardian and a ranger as well, and most likely an elementalist. But warrior will be my main, unless they change things drastically by launch.
I'll be dusting my Engineer off for the next BWE , if the changes scheduled correct half of the issues with the profession, I'll make it my main again.
If they can't seem to find the right place for the profession I'll be testing a Guardian, if that fails I've always got my Ranger on standby.
Edit * -- Asura , only Asura .... who doesn't want to play Stitch?
do Race actually matters? like is there any advantage to it?
Only matters for your personal story, and some race-exlusive skills (which tend to be weaker than their profession-specific counterparts). Other than that, no statistical advantage, hitboxes are same across all races, and after intro you can jump to any starting area you want.

Asura Engineer with Golem Elite .... exactly what I envision for the class.
Going to start with something like that, might change a few things around, not sure yet. I didn't get a chance to play all the classes up higher than 10-15 ... some I haven't even touched. Hopefully I enjoy the game enough I can play many characters to the level cap
Norn Necro will be my main (my favorite race and profession)
Sylvari Ranger will be my first alt (I like how the Sylvari are only after experience without judgement....and I like pets!)
After that I have no idea. I may play a Thief because I've had a lot of fun with my human Thief in the betas, but warrior kind of interests me as well. I may go with an Asuran Warrior because that just cracks me up!
You want me to pay to play a game I already paid for???
I think it is safe to say, first impressions may be biased. Mine were for sure.
First I tried an elementalist and decided it was too squishy for my play stile. And every new class I tried seemed better than the former. After a while I came to the realization that changing classes was not the issue, but my play style. I was still playing the older play mechanics that was ingrained into me for the past decade.
Once I realized this, every class seemed to play much better. I had to learn that if I played a tanky class I could no longer just charge in there and depend on the healers to keep me alive, I was now responsible to heal myself. And If I was playing a squishy class I had to actually move around and participate in the battle. No longer could I just stand there and dish out damage or heal others without paying attention to what was going on in the battle.
Now I have to go back and play all of the classes again before I can make a determination on what suits me best. BW3 will be pivotal on this decision.
I've read about a lot about the different options but am still undecided, I won't be playing in any of the betas so all I can say right now is I want to be a guy that's really enjoying the game, whatever I decide on.
well its not so much what i want rather how i have to do it the first guild wars my very first character was a mesmer a male mesmer and that was the worst decision i found out later.
well i did all my characters male, female, male, female like that now i have to reverse that and my first character has to be a mesmer and it has to be female. so that said human female mesmer and my second is a male norn thief
About soloing - in the last BWE and the stress test, it wasn't difficult just for mesmers.
If I remember correctly, before BWE2 some adjustments were made to higher levels in PvE and that broke the balance in lower level areas, but they said they are going to fix that.
So soloing was frustrating, sometimes not even viable in the last BWE in general, but I believe mesmers and a few other classes felt the change more than some others (guardian still seemed easy, while my thief seemed on nightmare mode when there was nobody around, and I didn't have that problem during BWE1). Skill tiers didn't help with that either.
I'm not sure if I understood what disappeared in your traits, but there have been some changes to skill and trait tiers between BWE1 and BWE2. You can't unclock all tiers of a trait line right away, if that's what you meant. You need to reach a certain level and buy the training manual to unlock the next tier, only then you can spend your points there.
I don't like how this makes leveling more important than before, but that's the route they chose.
As for the mesmer - many players protested about how the class plays and what it can do, and Anet said they'll look into it, but from what I recall they don't plan to change the mechanics drastically.
We'll really have to wait at least until BWE3 to see what the changes are.

All of them ;x cuz I like them all. Mesmer is obviously my favorite, though, and probably the first that will make it to level cap.

I mean the purple cristal creatures. Or better, forget that. I want to be an Elder Dragon and kill everybody.
