Just some questions

Couple quick questions:

When is this due to launch?

How many starting gods will there be?

What business model...are the adding new gods regulairly then selling them, is it like global agenda where you just buy the game and "sub" extra rewards after meach match ( i liked that system)?

Im planning to have this game replace D3 as my side game and im starting to get burned out on that. So far it looks great.

Oh and do beta testers see any major issues?

I think it is stated for early 2013. Smite is going on a long beta just like Dota 2.

How many starting gods will there be?

5 free gods that are comparable to paid gods. 18 gods total currently. New god release every 3-4 weeks.

you can buy gods with paid gems or exchange favor for it. You earn favor by winning games and gaining levels. You can buy a new god with favor roughly every 4 levels.

This is exactly what i did.

Not at all. The game is extremely playable. Its beta, but everyone is playing it like a "game" and buying gems. Everything is carried forward to release. Your levels, gems, bought gods..etc.

    Sounds good then.

My only dissapointment is the launch date, i know these types of games need extensive balance feedback and all...just was hoping for a fall launch i guess.

I understand theres a "deal" where you preorder or something and get all the launch gods?  Is this something i can do closer to launch or do i have to preorder now to get that deal?

Watched a few streams of the game and it looks fantastic...also i find the mechanics of the combat interesting with visable range boxes/cones...something i didnt expect...no tab target which would have sucked in a game like this.

The preorder bonus is no longer available. Instead, you have the option of buying gems which range in price from 7.99 for 49.99. When you buy the gems you will be given instant beta access, and then 3 extra codes to hand out.

It is very fun. There's unfortunately a lot of whinning, uptightness, and immaturity I've found at times though, however, sometimes you end up with a great team even if you are losing. So all depends.

Yeah this was the problem with LOL...the community.

Are the gems that you buy the same gems you obtain in game though?  Seems going from a $20 preorder to spending $50 on gems is quite a leap in price?  Would $50 get me the whole game?

No, you gems is the 'currency' you obtain when purchasing. You then get favor while playing in game. Favor can be used to buy stuff as well, but takes longer. It's 5500 favor for a god and you get 1000 for each level, and then a little for each game.

Well, I would do it. I should have haha. I've bought the 7.99 and 24.99 one so far. I guess that all depends on how much you see yourself playing though.

    If you price it out,

    7.99 for 400 gems =  $0.02 per gem

    14.99 for 800 =  $0.01875

    24.99 for 2000 = $0.0125

    49.99 for 5000 = $0.01

As you can see it's cheaper, and you do get more for the price. So yep. :)

So basically ill probably be using the starter gods then end up reducing the real money cost of buying more with in game favors or whatever.

Are there any persistant in game money sinks to compete with transfering them over to gems?  Im all for persistant "things" and i got no problem spending some real money, i was more curious over the cost of buying them all...but then i realized this is a game where you stick with a few "heroes" and get very attached to them and skilled using them...so im not at all worried about getting them all...just a few i can use in diffrent situations.

What are the planned persistant stats/items/systems?  Aside fromt he obvious ladder rankings ect.  They doing some type of LOL rune system?

Yes, that would be correct. The only persistant thing to do is to play, and win. You get more favor upon winning. Getting favor is considerabley slow, compared to getting experience in Tribes (one of their other games). By level 10 you will have only gotten two gods with in game favor.

You can play any of the gods in the practice mode, so you can see before you buy. I would definitely say you won't really know how much you like or how well they will play until you have played in a real match against players though. I have all of them except for one. I can buy the last one but I have 400 gems saved for upcoming gods. Guan Yu is my favorite now, and not because he's slightly overpowered haha.

I'm not sure about persistant stats and items. They aren't keep track of them at the moment (well we don't the button to click and see that info is locked, so maybe/hopefully they are). All items are bought in the match, none outside of that. Maybe in the future. There going to be shrines that are specific to gods that will be will be similar to the rune system in LoL. It's not going to be as involved or expensive or so I've read.
