Some Q&A regarding GW vs WoW

PainePaine Member Posts: 5

Q: Is Guild Wars an MMORPG ?
A: No, it's a CORPG ( Competitive Online Role-Playing Game )

Q: What is that ?
A: Means that GW focuses more on PvP.

Q: Is World of Warcraft an MMORPG ?
A: Yes.

Q: How about the monthly fees ?
A: In WoW yes. In GW no.

Q: Which one is best ?
A: There is no best. Guild Wars for PvP and WoW for PVE.

Q: What is PvP and PvE ?
A: Player vs Player and Player vs Environment

Q: Devolopers for both ?
A: GW; NCSOFT & Arenanet and WoW; Blizzard Entertainment & Battlenet

Q: Best graphic ?
A: Guild Wars.

Q: How about best support then ?
A: It's the same. WoW doesn't got better support due to the monthly fee. It's just to rip you off. Infact, Guild Wars has better support according to players who tried both since the release.

Q: How about races/classes & professions ?
A: WoW races: Night Elf, Human, Gnome, Orc, Undead, Tauren, Hunter, Troll & Dwarf.
WoW classes: Paladin, Shaman, Rogue, Mage, Warlock, Hunter, Warrior and Priest.
GW races: Human
GW Professions: Warrior, Monk, Ranger, Necromancer, Mesmer & Elementalist

Q: WoW got more classes & races, an easy choice.
A: You can combine 2 different professions in Guild Wars. For example: Warrior/Monk or Monk/Warrior.
Note that they are not the same.

Q: How about the profession skills ?
A: Guild Wars has more profession skills.

Q: What game got most players at the moment ?
A: World of Warcraft.

Q: I still don't know what game to purchase. Can you help me ? How about the skills ?
A: Both games are masterpieces. In WoW, it's your armor, spells and level that determinates a lot of your skill. In Guild Wars, it's pure skills. Wrong descision can lead you to death. Just like any 1:st Person game out there. It's about your skill. If you wanna get good, practise.

Now it's up to you what you want. Don't flame, it's for your own best. I don't care anyway. ::::31::

    not a flame,

but not sure what you mean by profession skills, if you mean the WoW equiv of class skills, not sure that guild wars has more, and you are limited to usiung 8 at any given time

    you also forgot

    Q:Tradeskills

A: WoW has several primary and secondary trades, easy to do: Guild wars: no tradeskills

WoW has PvP and GW does have a storyline PvE much like a console hack/slash game. (its relativley short by power-gamer terms but I found to be very fun diversion from WoW and EQ2)

Guildwars has 453 different skills. I do not know how many WoW has but i don't think it is more.

In GW each player has an opportunity to collect 150 skills per character (75 from each classes) and most are unique in their function. The fact that you can only use 8 at a time makes strategy come into play whether in PvP or PvE. You get more depth of character in WoW but for my money I choose the ability chang my characters skills at any time (in town) any way I please.

WoW does have PvP, but it's not very extensive. The rankings they have on the web site now are pretty cool though.

Heh, in GW you can change your secondary profession later in the game (RP characters only). That means you could unlock every skill with only one character.

I actually think it's a nice little 'check-list' for new players. Of course people have different opinions, but these are what I have found as being the most representative answers. image
