AS for weapon Glyphs... if the weapon can take one you just open your crafting window pop the weapon in there and then pop the glyph next to it.
This will help you i think..

For adding a glyph to a weapon, there is an in game mission in Kingsmouth, in the basement with the gypsy woman. Just put both the weapon and the glyph in the crafting window and hit assemble.
There is also a tutorial for creating a weapon in the game, in the same starter area.
There is no way to say this nicely and I really shouldn't, but they could make the screen go black with one single button that says "CLICK ME OR HIT ANY KEY OR DO NOTHING FOR ONE SECOND TO CRAFT" and some people would STILL not get it. Really, those jokes about people wanting to know which key is the any key. TRUE!
And if you can't be bothered with in game quests to explain it all, several nicely written guids exist that show all the patterns for weapons and talisman.

second google result.
Once you get familair with the patterns its incedibly simple. Theres a lot of pattern guides and crafting resources on the web that help.
Best part is that you dont have to choose 2 specific crafts then hope for the best, you can craft anything that is craftable.
Also youll never have to craft 50 Q2 items to be able to craft a Q3 item. Just ahve the right QL kit and refine the mats to the right level and your set.
You can always add glyphs later on to it as well.
Havent found much of a need for crafting though im in the Q3-Q5 range...seems weapons i get out of the dungeons are good enough.
Crafting is a great way to make good use out of all those item drops that are junky...since money really isnt a factor in this game...no point to really NPC stuff and save up. The money you get from missions and money drops are more than enough to buy whatever you want at the clothing NPC.
there is this one too http://crygaia.com/raithwoods-crafting-guide-release-version/
the only thing i have been lacking at the moment is drops to get the mats, i want to make some new pistols but not had anything that gives me metal drop yet
I originally thought the same thing, but once I became familair with the concepts and patterns I recognized it was much less complicated than I thought.
Thanks for the link to that site , never enjoyed crafting in any mmorpg myself , just always gathered and sold on AH and then bought what I wanted , but the fact I can just craft at any level without having to go through the lower ones to "skill up" makes me want to try the higher level/ql stuff once I get there.
There are some quests to help walk you through the processes now too. One for crafting weapons/talismans is located by Moose outside the sheriff station and one for attaching glyphs is located by the fortune teller. It provides some guidance. Glad they added those really for players.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
yea once you understand patterns and breaking down and combining items its actually very simple.. I like it though:)
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg
No its not too complicated you just have to get used to it .
Plus if you forget basic weapon patterns you can check finished missions for the crafting mission (Zen and the Art of Weapon Maintenance) and click image to see the recipes anytime you want. This you can do with all missions as well which is a nice feature of your "journal".
I think the idea of requiring some small bit of knowledge, or even looking stuff up on Google is a good thing. It's inline with how the game works too. It also avoids the silliness of having to wait until just the right moment to click a button to get your crafted item. I really like what they've done with the crafting in this game.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
It took me a while to figure this out too, but metal doesn't drop (that I know of). Rather, you get it from disassembling items. Pretty much anything QL 1 or higher (weapons and trinkets... can't remember the actual name... armor) can be disassembled for crafting materials. I'm not sure how this changes with higher QL items, but you generally seem to get crafting mats of the next QL down from what is required to make the item you took apart (being low "level", I've only dealt with Base and Imperfect quality which are used to make QL 1-3 items). Nice thing though is that you can upgrade the level of crafting materials. Just put a stack of materials (it uses 5 per upgrade, but you don't have to separate the stack into clumps of 5) in the crafting window (in the grid itself), and hit assemble. Repeat until out of stuff. You can do this with metal, the elemental stuff, and glyphs as well (uncertain on glyphs as I haven't found enough of any one type yet to upgrade them).
The big problem I have is in finding kits in order to be able to make anything. I've only had one weapon kit drop so far (made myself a nice QL 3 Elemental Focus), and I think 1 trinket kit. You can buy ones to make consumables from a vendor, but I haven't played around with that yet (consumables are kind of a pain since you can't hotkey them).
