The combat is great in the game.  The animations need work.  I've been pretty consistent.  They've actually improved from my impressions on animations awhile back with fixes.  TSW has tons of players.  Is it the size of SWTOR?  no.  But the zones have tons of people in them and neither you or I know exactly how many people that is due to their server technology.

Now I could start listing all the stuff you've posted before.  But what's the point.  You have an agenda and have been in here posting about it relentlessly.  It's time to move on.  Your game is almost out.

    Lemme try this again...

I'm saying if you didn't like the expansion, you're in the minority of people whom actually play AoC.  Your comments assume that the poster you quoted was wrong.  He's not.  You are.

No I don't assume he's wrong... I just think that funcom isn't that good as he's saying and I was let down by them 1 too many times...

And no, I'm not playing AoC anymore, that would mean I think the company or their products are good, when I'm clearly stating they're not...

And btw, you can't say someone's wrong just because he thinks different. Try understanding that before you "try this again"...

That's what you said above.  Now read your response.  You have a problem with Funcom.  Fine.  Doesn't mean his points are that rediculous.  And you just admitted that you haven't experienced a Funcom Expansion...so you don't know what you're talking about.  That makes you wrong with your comment and the poster you were making fun of  (or more appropriately laughing at with your emoticons) correct.

No but seriously, I know that not everyone will run to gw2 like its the holy grail, but even to those skeptics there's one thing we all approve of : B2P. Abolishment of the trinity system, dynamic event system, 3 faction RvR with battlegrounds with competitive pvp in mind. It's not re inventing the wheel, but its both changing the face of pve/pvp and well crap it's gd buy to play. Don't get me wrong, I purchased secret world yesterday and I'm currently enjoying the eerie atmosphere and modern day setting. Loving the progression system and all the different weapons and how they complement themselves. I enjoy the voiced over interesting personas of all the Npc's along with the unknown story of the secret world that envelopes it all. I simply enjoy the game for what it is, nothing more nothing less. Ill give it 2 months before it becomes as boring as all the rest and this is ok since GW2 comes out. The verdict is that The Secret World while it boasts atmosphere and a modern setting; its worth a buy and a paid month, but certainly not a lifetime sub, specially when they charge monthly AND cash shop. That last part always makes me laugh when its brought up.

OMG it is as if GW2 is the second coming (WoW being the first ofc).  Ill give it 2 months before it becomes as boring as all the rest.

Why did you have to go and poke the angry mice?

I am not playing this game and don't plan to.  However, I don't think people should be fooled into getting a lifetime sub at this point.  If they still offered lifetime subs a year or 2 down the line, and you are still playing, then I would say go for it.

I almost went for a lifetime sub before and I'm glad I didn't.  The first month can seem great, but a few months down the line you may realize the game is not all it's cracked up to be.

They're already angry.  Why?  Who the hell knows.  Maybe they're bitter they can't play their game.

It's a matter of taste and mechanics here actually, not some universal truth. I like a lot more interactive dialogue in games, no matter how significant or not the options are. In TSW my char is mute and for some strange reason everyone just decides to "fill you in" with whatever just because you happened to stumble around, basically meaning that there's just narrative in TSW, no dialogue to begin with.

TSW script might be better or worse depending on who you ask, but it pretty much serves only a narrative purpose, where in TOR at least you got to choose the general direction of the matter, you had LS/DS for whatever it was worth to individual players, and also the group dialogue with social points involved.

So those who simply likes quest / lore text spoken will definately like TSW take on the story better. Then again those who want to also have a part in the story / dialogue and some other functionalities for it, TOR wins clearly.

Also remember, all the "dialogue" and script is identical for everyone in TSW except for some faction specific stuff, this is fine since the game basically is not made alts in mind at all, it's still a fact though compared to TOR having 8 class stories + 2 unique factions with all the dialogue being different from the other faction.

Definately not as simple as "Great dialog script (not your typical bioware VO)" considering that TSW does not even have dialogue if you take the word for its meaning.

Having said that, TSW wins in my books though if you pair the script with the questing and not take it only as a single feature, since the questing is so much more fun than the basic MMO questing. If the choise is interactive dialog + standard MMO questing (TOR), or Non-interactive narrative script + unique quests (TSW), the choise is kinda easy, for me at least, even if I'd rather see TOR dialogue with TSW questing.

oh my god.... ok, go learn the difference between "not playing at all" or "not playing ANY MORE" ...

I know what I said, thank you very much... And still, in my opinion, funcom is a disaster and those "facts" that he stated are redicilous looking from the xp I've got with funcom. ..

This is my last reply to you.

I had to really love the setting and being in the world.  Every game will run out of content eventually and its up to the individual how long that journey takes.   I don't measure a game by how much there is to do but by the quality of content.  The way the quests are done is so much better than other games I played, it really is refreshing to have to focus and think to accomplish things.  I'm going to play both GW2 and TSW together because they compliment eachother as both have innovative things about them.  The setting is so different that when you bounce between them, you get years of content without burning out on one game/setting.  No regrets buying the lifetime here and I look forward to years of enjoyment.

    GW2 + TSW Lifetime = image

What are your rational reasons for recommending a life time sub? How can you rationally claim that this is the better option?

Wait a month or two, see if you'd still say that.

Buying something that is such a massive investment on initial hype is very dumb.

You see... I like to play MMO's long term, unless the game sucks, which is objective of coarse. Life time subs are great for people like me if I enjoy the game. What some of you basement dweller's take a week to complete, will probably take me a year. I usually play 4-6 hours a week and I like to smell the roses. $15 a month sucks with my playstyle.

I can totally understand how a lifetime sub would be waste for a hardcore, play 16hr everyday, finish all the content in a month type of person.

I like TSW it's a cool game and I'm 99% sure a lifetime  is more cost effective then a monthly sub for me.

I'm in the same boat as you. Don't feel like rushing the game due to RL commitment.

Have you even played any of their expansions or additional content?  No.  No you haven't.

And TSW is most certainly innovative.

Right, and you'd know that how?

Can I borrow your crystal ball ms. fortuneteller?

If you've even know or read the review for the expansion pack for AO and AoC then you won't be making such comment.  As for innovation, AO deep character stat and customization, AoC combat system, TSW character progression design.

if i were to pay a lifetime sub for any mmo i would demand the game client for free. Otherwise i dont want a lifetime price + the box / digital downlaod price + cash shop from any game.

I guess I don't. I see a list of points and a "conclusion", no evidence, no logic, no reasoning.

    Still, Enjoy your thread.
