So is this game an MMO?
I never played PSO1 but seems like everyone else did while I played PSU. PSU was my first "MMO" though it's not really much of one.
So is PSO2? Is it more true to what PSO was, or is it more like PSU, and is it perhaps more of an MMO? I hate lobby games.. I like games with worlds, and I hate having to travel through levels I don't want to be in just to get to the lobby for the zone I want to be in.
I watched two CB videos from April and they weren't very informative, and weren't very good. The guy was excited because it "felt like PSO1 and looked like PSU2" but didn't really give any information.
Thanks.

PSO was more lobby based and static than PSU was. I'm not sure what the underlined sentence is referring too.
yes. PSO2 is same shit as PSO and PSU.
Its just normal single game with persistent online connection and possibly to cooperate.
MMO = persistent world, chance to meet hundred players. That will never occur in any shit from Sega.
This game will be same shit as all PS previously. instanced bias with generated empty rooms and 1-2 mobs in each room.

That's a lot of shit !
It's based on lobbies. If you want massive combat you have the multi party missions.
I think it's great, it's more focused and makes more sense than a free roam PSO.
To answer the OP PSO is an instanced based franchise so yes this is probably not the game for you.
On the poster above I'm glad I have finally met the authority on what an MMO is now all the questions I've wanted to ask for years can be answered.
One might call the lobbys worlds, and I used to go to events in a PSO lobby where I met hundreds of players. Its sad that you have such a narrow view of what makes a game good. Incidently most modern MMORPGs consist of solo open world grinding and group (instanced dungeons) so removing the solo aspect of the game makes it less multi-player? Is GW not an MMO becuase it was instanced, How about Atlantica Online where the world is persitent but the combat is atmost 3 players involved? people are still player together and interact on a massive scale socialy.
Personaly I had most of my most memorable social experieces in any MMO playing PSO on xBox live, and think its very narrow minding to not give a lobby game a chance especialy considering people rarely interact in most MMO's outside of the towns and Dungeons.
