3 pages and its mostly "troll/flamebating comments" :/

when you say something wicked is bugged by the birds? are you trying to "see" them while alive?

spoiler for you, to get in to the cell you have to do /kill, then while still spector you walk outside the station and you see white birds. following them you find a group that speak in rhyme.

    pretty simple from there on.

i had issues with it in beta weekend as i couldnt figure out what people meant half the time (someone was nice enough to pm me that i had to die to do the quest lol) but during my weekend beta i had no issues with the crows. (though i fked it up the first time, they reset after you "fail" to select it all correctly)

    hope they helps...

techy wise.. i didnt notice any graphical problems when i played though i didnt use high end graphic settings so maybe thats why :/

    Ok, let's review,

    Your statements in order are:

    1. "the game is half-finished"

    2.  "i have done over 100 quests"

    3.  "i am playing just fine"

So, what you are saying is that out of the 100 quests you've done, 50 (50 is "half" of 100) were bugged.  However, despite this you are playing the game just fine.  I'm confused.

Which exactly is your point?  That the game IS or IS NOT half-finished?  And just so we're not stuck picking up apart each others words, the only thing you need respond with is this:   out of those 100 quests you did, how many were bugged?

So your 2 cents is that you understand what he is going through, without having tested the game. Compared to the other people in this thread who are playing the game and say it isn't so? Gotcha, worth maybe 1 cent...

And stop with your teeny "fanbois/trolls" remarks, it's getting old. Not everyone is a preteen with an urge to be either of the 2. Just cuss u liek a game doesn't make you a fanboi, neither does not liking a game make you a troll.

I learned. It's simple, it's called don't get yourself so hyped up. I won't say I won't buy a FC game, I will tell you I will surely wait before buying a FC game. They've earned that all themselves.

I have submitted 4 tickets to date and all of them were answered in-game within 40 minutes. I'm on est time so maybe there were more support available....guessing here. My experience has been really good.

Holy cow this thread is full of palpable, defensive rage..

Why do people get butt-hurt when someone says something negative about something they like?  Did saying these things punch your mother?

    Anyhow, on topic.

The hardware bug is unfortunate but not entirely funcoms issue.  The buggy part with no CS response is definitely a recurring theme that I've been seeing.  More so about the no responses from CS, not so much about the bugs.

My friend created a toon, he spent HOURS making his character look just right (Which to me stil looked bad), he got into the tutorial and the part where he was supposed to take over the body of Sara in the subway glitched out and he ended up skipping the whole thing...except the quest didn't update.

So he was stuck in seoul unable to progress or proceed, there was a giant green wall of you may not pass put up in front of him near the Dragon HQ.  I thought it was funny personally...

Anyhow, he's waited now 2 days and hasn't had one response, he finally just decided to make a new toon, not exactly a huge setback seeing as he'd officially accomplished..erm..I guess character creation and nothing more, still he was quite upset and was almost ready to just box the game and never look back.

This has nothing to do with the game, but how does your friend get on in life in general if he would give up at the slightest sign of a problem like you mention above? You have only created a character, done nothing at all in game and all you need to do to fix it is pop in a ticket and create a new character. The character creator has hardly any options so it's not hard to recreate the same look.

I can't imagine spending £40 on a game, getting a bug with it and then shelving it never to be touched again, what a waste of £40.

Not to be rude or anything Hateful, but if that was all it took for your lifepartner to stop playing... ,, , Mate you did not have a snowballs chance in Helsinki to get any prolonged gaming out of it as a duo.

Or perhaps you should have waited a few weeks months before introdusing the two, as it is not your first launch. And you never did answer what caused the crashes...?

This have been a good conversation

This thread his the reason number 1 why we get so many bug in MMO.

  • TamanousTamanous Member RarePosts: 3,030

My petition was resolved within the time they listed. Everyone in my cabal had theirs resolved in due time as well. I only submitted a ticket because others said theirs were resolved so fast. I personally would have just waited until the next patch to correct it or tried more than once before rage quitting to swap instances (the reason for being in a cabal btw ... players who help).

Also I think I have submitted less than 15 tickets in the 13 years of playing mmo's. Who the hell are these people who submit so many tickets that they constantly come to forums (that have no ability to help ... post on the actualy game forums ??? o.0) to bitch about support.

They just launched, they have helped tons of people who have posted other threads about the support being the best they have seen yet a few slip through the cracks (as is human ... or glitches in their ticket system. Sucks to be sure but there are other mroe productive ways to deal with) yet suddenly some player's world implode and they must whine to the universe if they can't finish a quest. Submit another ticket and STFU. Here's a better option ... go start a class action lawsuit which seems to be the battle cry of every American video gamer these days (for the least socialist country on the planet they sure do seem to whine more than any socialist I have ever met).

I am starting to hope that these players along with those who ask for help or look up cheats when they can't figure out a quest in 3 seconds finally decide to leave mmo's forever.

    You stay sassy!

You've gotta be ready to face some aggravation when participating in an MMO launch. That's just the way it is.

95% of all computer related issues are user error.

    This is a FunCom title.

Is there really much more that needs to be said?

Sorry that you are having issues, but this would be expected from what I saw in the beta. This is why I am playing the waiting game on this one for now. Hell DX11 and my sound was not even working like 1-2 weeks before release ...

I noticed the OP has left the thread, apparently it hurts to be told you're wrong for 5 pages.

Bugged Quests - There are a *few* instances where triggers in quests not activating, that will be fixed in the next patch and it was only 3-4 quests out of HUNDREDS that were even affected.  Also, changing dimensions fixed it for me.

Also, a "hard" quest is not bugged.  This is not WoW, you won't get bright glowy pointers pointing you towards everything and hold your hands.

Agreed. It kind of disturbs me when people defend a buggy product. For example, I love Fallout, Fallout New Vegas, and Oblivion, but all 3 came out VERY buggy (esp. for single player games), and I was upset. Bethesda should have had those bugs mostly fixed by release. They got better with FNV which had most bugs fixed by month 2, but still. For people to be defending bugs, saying, basically, that bugs are suppose to be there when an MMO releases is absurd. ESPECIALLY because almost every one of these bugs was reported on the offical TSW forums after the FIRST open beta (and some have them have been hanging around since I was in closed beta). Funcom should've had many of these bugs fixed already. Period. I'm not saying all, but seriously, if you can't have bugs fixed that we there during closed beta by release, then they should've pushed back release, imho.

no he left the thread because of douches like you and who can blame him . Funcom sucks period and has since AO since it lived in DAOC shadows for years . AOC is still a horrible game even after its free to play failing conversion . You guys cannot take any ciriticism of any beloved game you play , you feel the need to bash everyone that has issues or doesnt enjoy it. Guess what this game sucks to a lot of us regardless of your opinion , I uninstalled after 15 mins because it was such a POS. Im glad Im not playing it as the community on this website if based on trends sucks period and I can see a lot of people leaving it soon enough because of the crappy community. BTW it is a BUGGY POS as is ALL Funcom crap.

This game seems very selective at the moment about which players will enjoy their way through it. Seems to be just as many people get quests like Something Wicked bugged, as people who don't. Personally, Something Wicked worked fine for me, and the only quest so far (I'm a ways into the Scavenged Coast or whatever) that was bugged was the "Trapped Survivor" one, where a dude is supposed to be trapped in a bear trap and you gotta escort him apparently. He's stil yet to ever be there, though you can click where he should be to accept the quest.

So far, aside from the combat animations not being so great, I've got mainly positives to say about this game. That game is actually quite difficult all around, which is nice, and you really need to be paying attention to your surroundings, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around not having everything needed readily in-game. I mean, quests where you actually need to figure out real life information online in order to solve it but not being told that makes ya have to think outside of the box and it's gonna take a while to get into the train of thought where that just clicks.

Overall, yes it's buggy, but it's a pretty smooth launch, whether or not you're feeling that. They've probably gotten that ticket about the Something Wicked quest a billion times, though I would've thought they'd at least have sent an automated message. Maybe someone messed up; maybe they don't care - I'm not going to be making up my mind on this based on one account. Next time, I might suggest waiting a couple weeks post-launch before buying an MMO - or at least wait a couple weeks before trying to sell someone on it.

Game is Buggy on some quest for sure, but I've been in contact with 4 separate GMs so far, and one of them even spent almost 3 hours with me and a friend helping us complete bugged quests in the Savage Coast.

I can't complain.  The GM response time has been, for me at least reasonable, they are polite, super helpful, etc.

So while I've been annoyed at not being able to pick up the Ashes, or Can't Click the Damn Pike, Or WHERE THE HELL IS THE RESIDENT HORROR THAT WON'T SPAWN...

I can sing the praises of the responsiveness and willingness to resolve the issues I've gotten from the in-game support staff.

I can say for sure that there are some annoyingly bugged quests, but a little patience goes a long way.

it's too bad that FAILCOM supporters are getting shafted by the company that is supposed to be trying to earn their respect. They charge enough for this game to have appropriate support staff, but they are proving they don't care about the gamers, just their wallets.

So far i can't complaint about CS for TSW, but i've been lucky, only problem i had was the account system not accepting my payment (due to some mistake on my details that were incompatible with the billing system)  and a bugged quest petition.

Some other people has had bad experiences, but overal i hear possitive experience both from my guildies, in the forums and on general chat.

Some GMs don't know enough about the game, tho, apparently.

First, right off the bat, she gets some graphical bug that causes her to crash every time she tries to log in her toon.  Ok after several hours we finally get CS to respond, and help out.  The guy trying to help barely knew how to fix the issue, and I ended up working it out myself.

So she finally gets to play.  She gets to the mission; Something Wicked....and yeah the crows are bugged.  So she askes in help and her faction channel for someone to invite her to group so she can switch instances.  Nothing (way to go community, not your responsibilty, but still) anyway, So she submits a petition.  And waits the 4 hours, with no answer whatsoever.  She logs in this morning expecting an answer to her petition aaaand nope, nada, zilch.  The petition was deleted with no response or action taken.

I know, I know, no big deal and I expect that the fanbois will turn the flame throwers on this thread within minutes, but say what you want, this is happening, there are bugs, there is crap CS, the game is not finished.

This game is without question the best funcom game they have ever launched.

Computer problems are a pain but I've never gotten any support resolving them other than through the forums etc.  Glad you worked that out.

Yes there are some bugs but you know the mechanics of quests in this game are really pushing the envelope some of the best and most creative I've ever seen.  So yes some bugs but nothing game breaking or anything that I'd call critical.  Compared to AO which was unplayable at launch or AoC which crashed constantly and had to spend forever rebuilding it's hash database assuming you could get the game to even restart at all.  Then once you got in AoC you played the first 20 levels and then were completely let down when the game kinda ran out of polish and was mundane at best.

For the CS support I've had great luck.  I've submitted like 3 tickets and the response has been amazing.  30 minutes to 2 hours.  One of them I logged out after submitting it and the next day when I logged in I got a message.  Now I think it was men in black and after the mission was progressed the GM said I was good.  I ran back to unpause the mission and it didn't progress.  I was impressed that the CS person held the ticket till I could confirm it was fixed and immediately helped me progress the quest after I unpaused it.

I'm enjoying this game a LOT and consider it probably the most innovative MMORPG in years.

Ill try to put this as friendly as posible.. if you want mature responses.. post mature.

I took the liberty to look at your gamed played and you seriously complain about CS?

From what I learned over the years is most of the time people complain about cs, isnt because they are bad they just arent doing what people demand them to. There is a good chance the issue with the computer crashing isnt TSW, its the computer, but Im open minded I dont rule out anything. Though judging by the tone of voice..

She ran into a problem and people didnt respond, people arent unwilling, people just arent always able to help and certainly arent always going to drop everything just to help you. Since early access till today, I still rather frequently see people offer to TP to a non bugged "something wicked" dimention. SHE could have taken them up on their offer too.

Just another tip for you, disagreeing with you doesnt make one a trollkid nor fanboi.
