Another thing to remember that is the ranks are % based off the population. That means if 2 to 1 ratio that is 2 to 1 more ranks. Another thing is if you played horde the raids are insane. Having double amount means the lesser faction has a harder time getting a kill in cause there is more attacking. Here is a good question who is the "Bad Guys"? The allience or the horde.

They out number the Horde atleast 2:1 on most server :P
The horde get more kills because there are more alliance to kill.
But still horde and i play on 3 different servers kick alliance ass but HORDE IS BY FAR BEST alliance are just bunch of pussys who need to be kicked in the butt:P
HORDE FOREVER!!!!
P.S. I must say i play from june 2004 wow and never have played alliance somehow i dont like the races and humans are just personifications off what they are not in RL but thats my way of looking at it hehe.

Play Warcraft I - III, follow the story. The alliance are evil backstabbing SOBs. There is nothing "evil" about the horde, they are more tribal, less civialized. But back to the OP...
The alliance is filled with a bunch of little kids who played Warcraft, most probably aren't old enough to remember WC or WCII they only played WCIII. They think of theirself as the hero of the game, they intend to slaughter horde by the score. When this fails to happen they usually go to the WoW shaman forum and whine that the shaman are the reason they can't fight their way out of a paper bag.
In the BG, again most alliance think of themselves as the hero, so they have little to no interest in playing as a team. Teamwork is a concept far below them, after all they are the mighty hero, they can kill the entire horde, why bother with things like teamwork or strategy?
Away from the BG, alliance will only attack if...
1) They are at least 5 levels higher and out number you.
2) They catch you in a fight with a mob.
3) rogue gank
In PvE, most of them are AFK half the time because their mom needs them to do a chore. And on the rare occasion that the entire group is actually playing, it falls back to the "I'm the hero" mentality, everybody has to be the leader and nobody in the group is willing to allow someone else to take lead.
And then there is the whole paladin issue. Paladins are one of the strongest classes in the game, not individually on offense like 95% of them try to do, but as a defensive team player a paladin can really shine. But rather than play the class as intended they'd rather whine about their low offense....again, usually on the shaman forum.
All in all, I enjoy being horde. I especially enjoy it when I run across female nightelf #35678356835673 and I gank the little he-bitch....repeatidly
Some will say alliance is filled with 13 year old bnet kiddies and horde is mature.
Others will say horde sucks cause alliance overpopulates them and there's no one to group with.
I simply hate the horde because they aren't helpful, they are so full of themselves, all the trolls over-roleplay (they always say "mon" at the end of each phrase) and all the orcs over-roleplay (they speak like: "me crush you now, me orc! har har! zug zug"... ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME!!!), they all think they are l33t and bash n00bs.
I couldn't stand it. You ask 1 simple question in the Orgrimmar general chat, everyone bashes you for being a noob, how if you dunno how to play the game that you should switch to alliance and join horde when you know how to play.
So I've been playing Alliance for the past 7+ months.
It's so much more friendly, Ironforge General chat is maybe spammed by a few idiots, BUT NOT AS BAD AS ORGRIMMAR!!! I ignore maybe 1-3 people per day in alliance. When I played horde, the way it started, I'd be up to ignoring 10-15 people per day! It's sad.
But hey, this is me, this is on Earthen Ring, maybe it's different for other servers, but all in all, I ain't switching ever again to horde on my server, I hate the horde on Earthen Ring server, so do whatcha want.
I like horde more then the alliance, the story, the background and their looks are imo far better then the alliance. The 'rumor' horde is more mature is just bullshit and both sides have people who are are bashing and people who are friendly.
My vote goes to Horde, but I've characters on both sides.
Just play what you like the best if thats what your trying to work out. I play Horde on bloodscalp, seems to be more alliance but im told its pretty balanced. There are fools on horde as im sure there are on alliance. With regards to people saying there all 13 yr olds playing on alliance I do know a clan of adults playing alliance on a server, however i do notice that alliance numbers really drop around 10pm on nights when the horde seem to still be on, but thats just what ive noticed. Its like I said play the class and side you like the look of.
ok, when i started playing WoW, i was die hard alliance. nothing could seperate me from my NE rogue. i just pictured the horde as barbaric idiots (im in RPing). Well, then i kind of lost interest in the game for a little, and decided to try and rekindle the fire by making a couple new chars...Horde characters. from that point on, i never went back to alliance except to play my gnome mage.
The horde are much much much more mature than the alliance. I'm not saying the alliance is all little kids who talk about xbox or stuff that "roxorz or pwned" and im not saying the horde does not have those members either. To me, it just seems that the horde is overall more mature. the instance runs i do are much more fun and the friendships i have made are much more fruitful.
my advice to you, pick one and play it for a couple days. get a feel for it, and even though you may like it, make the other faction character. see which one is the best, then go play it.

Ignorant statements from a fool. You have people on both sides that do the exact same things. The only thing you did mention that was correct is team work, horde tends to play more as a team than players from the alliance do. But your reasoning behind it , couldnt be more wrong.
....seems someone gets a little too pissed off getting killed outside BG.
Originally posted by UbiNax you cant really say " who is best?" because its more like " what do you want to play?? "
Wouldnt you want to play which side is better? He's not asking you to list the facts, like which side has more kills or which side is stronger. Which side is better can be referring to your opinion on things that are personal to you and make the side seem "better" to you.
Edit: I play horde side and I experienced ALOT of ganks from alliance outside of Battlegrounds. While I was leveling, my rogue encountered many alliance and outside of BG I had yet to lose a 1v1 match against an alliance (this includes when they attack you while you are fighting mobs). I was in Satyrnaar on my rogue and a mage came and tried to kill me while I was in combat. I ended up killing her and she even used a potion, and with the mob still on me I used vanish and sprinted out of Satyrnaar alive. Another time, I attacked an hunter who was orange and killed him easily. He came back while I was in Hillsbrad and killed me while I was fighting some of the NPCs there.
But I don't know if we do this to you guys (killing while you guys fight mobs, etc). My server has some pretty awful alliance, sometimes ?? rogues wearing 50+ items havent managed to kill my rogue fast enough for me to escape. I know the honorable kill record on my server is currently held by horde, whose runner up is an alliance character with 15,000 less kills then this horde guy.
i play on australian servers because racism is acceptable there
Just the other day an 30ish orc rogue and a 25 troll rogue were takin out the lower level players in lakeshire.....so yeah both the alliance and the horde do it. i wanted to play a pally so i picked alliance but my next toon will be horde.
Alliance usually has the numbers, the Horde are usually more organized. Broad impression but seems to be true in most cases. Of course sometimes the opposite is true.
Where does everyone get the impression we're evil? Read into Warcraft plot- Thrall was the only one out of all the races that actually listened to the prophet's warning of the Burning Legions return. The Scourge was formed out of betrayal within the alliance (Kel'Thuzad was a Kirin'Tor and decided to help Nerzhul reform the Scourge). Thrall also organized an army to stop Mannoroth without any allies helping and at the end of Warcraft 3, the Alliance and Horde were allied and at peace. Guess who broke that? General Proudmoore (Jaina's father) raided Durotar with ships thus ending the alliance between the Alliance and the Horde. So what REALLY is the reason that we are evil? Is it because we look different ?
