I still have an old account in this game and tried it out about 6 months ago and saw that I had tons of birthday presents, which apparently was worth gold. I have, howerver, only the original gw game, not any expansion at all. So I was wondering if it would be worth it for me to buy eye of the north just to try to get > hall of monuments > gw2 rewards
I would really prefer not to play GW1 at all, it's just that I have a lot of time atm during summer and if it would take something like 2 days to acquire 15 points by only buying eye of the north expansion - then I'm game. So what do you think, is that doable?
I never played gw1 that much so all I have is ca 20 miniature statues, one unopened 6th birthday present (don't know if it is highly valuable like before) and one level 20 character with normal highest armor.

you answered your own question. (see underlined)
I'm a unique and beautiful snowflake.
I don't recommend grinding for those HoM achievements if that is all you want to play the game for. It's not a simple task. If you actually like GW1 and will enjoy playing it to get the rewards then, sure, go for it.
As for the rewards themselves. They are unique but there are plenty stuff in the game that looks just as good. Getting the rewards is a pretty drawn out process so because you don't really want to play the game I'd say don't bother. You'd get more worth out of playing another game you actually want to play in your extra spare time. The rewards are just fluff... and fluff isn't worth, potentially, 100's of hours of your time when you're not having fun in the first place.
I say yes, IF you want the items. It took me only 49 days to get 30/50 HoM points, and I'd never played the game before. I did have all 4 games though which made it easier with all the heroes getting them gear and getting points that way too. Since you have stuff already that you can use or sell it wouldn't be so bad. I made an sos rit and solo'd master sho's on heroic a lot and also went to ToA on heroic in prophecies and farmed a ton of plant fibers to sell to help afford the armor suits I needed. Any gold items you get you can use for id'ing title or sell them to players for 700g each. I chose to just sell them as the title wasnt worth it for me. When I started playing I got up 20k and I bought minis from people for 1-3k each and resold them for 5-40k each. There's a lot of ways to make money so you can buy up a lot of points.
I didn't like GW1, I just wanted the points, got what I wanted and uninstalled it heh..If you're wanting something to do til GW2 I think it'd be good for ya to have something you can bring over, besides we got nothing else to do until GW2 comes out, err gamewise.
What happens when you log off your characters????.....

Dark Age of Camelot
Well if you already have GW1 and nothing better to do why not? You can get some niffty looking gear and pets.
