Looking for another "great" MMORPG to play...you know one?

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for another MMORPG to play. I know we all have our favorites (mine being Anarchy Online), but I'm looking for advice about any MMORPG gems out there. I'm taking a long vaction from Anarchy Online and looking for another adventure! :D You can PM me or just post here about your favorites.

This isn't a contest to see which MMORPG is the best; I'm saying that now...don't want any "wars" started. I've started a trial of Dark Age of Camelot. It's ok, but features some lag...not sure if it's my computer hardware or the game software (or both).

I heard WOW and Guild Wars are great (especially Guilds Wars for PvP nuts, as I am one). Since WOW doesn't have a trial (not sure) and Guild Wars won't have one (since its not like other MMORPGs).

I look forward to the advice from my fellow MMORPG peers and I thank you in advance.

    [Update]

From all the posts I've read in this message board so far, DaoC is the game to play. If I can solve that lagz problem...maybe I'll enjoy it. I'm a huge fan of PvP gameplay (what better way to prove that you know what you're doing by killing another hiLeveler). The PvP is said to be decent (like Anarchy Online...its great if you know how to twink your characters)...so I'll give it another try.

If you liked Anarchy Online odds are that you will enjoy Saga of Ryzom. I have found the games to be very similar. And the new Outpost Expansion will make the PVP system similar (but in my opinion better) if it works as intended. Outposts are supposed to come out within the next month or so.

SoR very much reminds me of AO when I play it... but with better graphics, animation and smoother play.

I play Ryzom. But the more I hear of the Outposts the more flashback to Shadowbane I get.

Still a very well designed game... everybody I've ever met ingame is very nice.

    Hello everyone,

Elnator, since you're a veteran of MMORPGs (read your profile), I'm going to try Saga of Ryzom; especially if its similar to Anarchy Online. What I loved about AO was its intimate PvP system (I know its not the best, but to me it's all about knowledge of your opponent and their class/breed) and how crowds of more than 50+ would gather to see the hilevelers duel [wasn't everyday, you could see the best of the best duel it out]. Everyone had their own way of dueling, be it dishing out the most damage in the quickest time or let the other deal the damage while you heal and wait to unleash your attacks. Furthermore if you didn't [or don't know how to] twink your character to the extreme...PvP wasn't for you. Some ex-AO players would say there's an unbalanced nature to AO's PvP system...not if you knew what you're doing.

Anyway, Elnator I am going to take your advice. As for GW...I'm going to try that also and thank you all for your help/advice.
