i have an integrated video card. Now if i wanted to get an actual card, do i need to take out the i ntegrated card becuase i looked inside and didnt see one. So do i just put the new one in.
You can't remove the integrated vide. All you need to do is pop in a new video card assuming you have a slot for it. What kind of computer do you have? Are there any slots open? You will either need a PCI, AGP, or PCI-Express video card depending on how new, old, or crappy your computer is.
This is why I advice against buying "brand" name PC's.
Some bad news for you, allthough it is indeed a AGP slot it is not possible to switch card, and there is no open AGP slot on the 2400.
The 3 slots you see are all PCI slots, so all you can do is put in an PCI card.
These are all but non existant as of today..
Sparkle GeForceFX 5200 128MB PCI
Hightech Excalibur Radeon 9200 128MB PCI
Are two out of a very limited number.
Pretty cheap to and would probably boost you a fair bit.
But, I am not certain how your system will react to a new card, as I said it was built for the integrated intel ONLY, if you disable that though I do not seeing you have to much trouble.
Another benefit would be that you "free" up RAM as the bloody Intel thing shares its memory with your RAM, 32-64 MB is down the drain wich you will probably get back if you get a new one.
That being said, whatever you do it will never become a gaming rig, probably not even close.

A GeForce 5700 is the best PCI card they make, but they are even harder to find than the ones he gave. Check ebay for it, I found one here. Anything will really be better than what you have now, but the 5700 is the best PCI card.
If you can get that card Jaguar linked to for even under 60-70$ your still making a HUGE bargain.
Thoose are rare indeed, I am quite well versed and I did not know they made PCI all the way up to 5700.
On another note, the QUADRO cards fit into the PCI slot, thoose are mostly for CAD and such have a massive price tag though, doubt it is an option but thougth id mention it.

I have a Dell Dimension 2400.
There are 2 slots open. Can it work?
Being sad, lonely, and smelly is my way.
