Folks wanting to try out Bioware's Star Wars: The Old Republic will want to check out the new details on the free trial. Players can game up to level 15, the "opening adventures", for each of the game's eight classes.
Today we are excited to announce the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Free Trial*. Now you will be able to live out your very own Star Wars™ saga with thousands of other players up to level 15 with no charge or time limit! The Star Wars: The Old Republic Free Trial allows individuals, without a previously active Star Wars: The Old Republic game account, to see a portion of what the game has to offer with no payment method required.

The amount of coverage and articles this game still gets is amazing. This game is the Ryan Leaf of MMOs and needs to just die.

At least you can sample the elite versions of each class during the trial but I think especially for the summer they could make some good box sales going full F2P.
When you make a game that is too easy, it is hard to keep people playing for long. This game really never had a chance. The only thing that got the initial interest of people in the game was the Star Wars theme. SWG was light years better than this game, IMO.
I doubt LA would ever allow it, but a pre-NGE SWG with some updates would rock the genre. At least there would be a MMO with some challenge to it.
Wonder how long EA is going to afford to pay LA royalties, that has to be taking a big chunk of the games income. This game could go the way of SWG.

so old players that want to come back and try new characters for free are locked away unless we pay a sub..... NO THANK YOU. Ill keep waiting for full F2P while playing other games. Enjoy your crappy free trial EAWARE, your not getting my money anymore

From what i was reading this morning inactive accounts were able to log on to their lowbies this morning before maintenance, no idea if that's the case afterwards though.

Another free trial? This game has been having free trials and free trial weekends for months and the game hasn't been out that long. If I hadn't played the game already and knew how terrible it was, I'd see the free trial and say "um, this early in the games life? no thanks." A few years after it's released sure, I can see free trials, but this is a bad sign for any game that comes out and can't keep its numbers, and have to do free trials to pad numbers, just a few months out of the gate.

Yay! It's Warhammer ALL over again. I love when history repeats itself.
Can't imagine who'd spend their evening downloading a gazillion gigs of sound and miscellaneous extras for just 3 days worth of gameplay.
We all know that bioware/ea is just trying to get customers to come back, for those that played the game, we all know that we enjoyed level 1-15 but when u get to endgame you giggle especially the pvp part of the game.

I was in one of free weekends. But I cant get in. I get this message:
"There is currently no active subscription on this account"
I honestly think this game is very fixable i quit because it was too much like every other mmo i been playing for years, that and i played GW2 and i am done with 'this style' of MMO. It's far from the worst mmo ever frankly APB gets that honor imho or some of the other MMO's that someone pulled the plug on and don't exist anymore.
However, who-ever thought that having 1-49 experience and the 50+ experience having absolutely nothing to do with another is trully an idiot. Especially to casuals which they wanted a lot of , comes off as very bait and switch.
Hmmm..what about registering an entirely new account? Although it only works if you strictly just want to try out other classes/faction, since it won't be tied with your inactive account.
Not really .... I see actually nearly all other games gets much more attention. They should be more aggresive with advertising like another game I like a lot Rift. But also make more happi pvpers and endgamers. As altholic i do not care for this two aspects and can not judge. However playing since day 1 leveling all my 12 alts (8 rep, 4 imp) and having a blast. Never seen better and polished game at release. And never played any game before for more then 3-4 months in one shot, not even wow or rift. Here i feel fresh and willing to login every day back as day 1.
