I am after a game thats preferably smaller than 2.5gigs... I live in australia and we have some pretty poor network connections here.
Newish if possible.
And yes. I am well aware that all the good games are 10 gigs plus :'(

Diablo 2 is about 2gb and is a good game, but calling it new-ish is a stretch.
LMFAO! Loving it, I own D3 but im on hell with a 53 wiz and kinda sick of killing and dieing for the moment, and FE has lost a bit of appeal to me so i need something new >_<
Asherons Call is 3 gigs according to the system requirements. Its definitly not new and I havent played it in years. But even so for 10 bucks (and I think its 13 a month sub after 30 days) I would say give it a go if you can tollerate the graphics. Even solo I think its fun. Loot is 100% random and its a semi skill based mmo. Its really old though so be warned odds are you WILL be playing it as a single player game. On the bright side even if you only play it for a month thats a well spent $10 if you enjoy it.
As far as newer games hmmm Terarria maybe. If you like 2D semirpg-digging-building type game. Look up some lets plays on youtube. Dungeon defenders is alot of fun and on sale on steam for midweek madness. 2gig required space. Its a tower defense/action rpg combo.
Well I had much fun with dark age of camelot in the past. Dont know if its worth it still, havent been an expansion out since 2008, but game is still live. It's a little over 2,5gb(about3,3gb full game).
There are plently of asian mmo's forexample Rappelz but I would rather undergo torture(irony) than playing a grinder mmo..
I cant think of many thriving older games tho.
I'd play Daoc.. Its still active and pretty easy to go from Noob-->Veteran
