There are plenty of reasons why a person might choose their race for the engineer profession. The Charr like their machines of war. The Asura have knowledge of alchemy and are known to be the smartest of the races. The Norn have the muscles to carry all that equipment. Maybe one race looks good in all that leather. Maybe a race has better looking gun animations than the others or seem to have the voice you would picture an engineer to have. Which race do you think makes the best engineer? Answer the poll below and discuss why.

There are no racial advantages... they're all equally adept.
Oderint, dum metuant.
did you read the post?
^^ This, which is a good thing.
I say charr because it's part of there lore and story....
really needed a "race is irrelevant" option!
Definitely Charr. No other race seems anywhere near as technological.
I'm making a CHarr engineer.
Asura could make a good engineer as well, I'm still thinking of a proffesion for an Asura though

P2P LOGIC = If it's P2P it means longevity, overall better game, and THE BEST SUPPORT EVER!!!!!(Which has been rinsed and repeated about a thousand times)
Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.
I would go with charr it fits well with there lore and love of machines
Charr, definitely. Their whole society is based on the "steampunk" type tech and the engineer fits perfectly with that.
Distant second to that would be Asura, because they are also very tech based. The difference being their tech is mostly magic based rather than "science". But they are smart little bastards so engineer would work very well for them.
You want me to pay to play a game I already paid for???
Be afraid.....The dragons are HERE!
I think making an Asura Warrior would be hilarious. Especially if you make the Asura tiny even for an Asura. That just cracks me up.

With a greatsword and hammer lol

Sylvari for sure. Nothing screams Engineer like the naturey race.

Kodan, bears and guns man >_>
(but in all seriousness the Charr for sure)
Sylvari, so you look differente
I'm making an asura warrior.
Charr, Asura, Norn and Human seem like the most "traditional" races for the Engineer. Each race seeks power for various purposes. The war between Charr and Human is a natural necessitator of various inventions (need to kill your enemy more efficiently), so Engineering makes perfect sense for the both of them. Asura are the most technologically rounded race, since many of their inventions aren't just for making war, Engineering fits right in with their culture. Norn, well they are always seeking glory and a good hunt, while Engineering might seem sort of out of place within their naturalistic culture, they also respect all forms of strength.
Of course, Sylvari are extremely curious of the world around them, being the youngest of all races. So exploring all aspects of the other cultures fits right in with the persona of a typical Sylvari.
There's good reasons for any race to be an engineer, although, I think mine would be Charr...they are a race that is basically a war machine after all.
At first I was "Charr!" Then I thought to myself how a Charr would look in a leather hat and was leaning towards human. But then I thought about the big back kits the engineers have and thought that humans might not feel right. The Norn seemed like a good option for a moment, because they just reminded me of mountain men with guns and powder kegs, but then I decided that I might not like their model in the long-term. Then I went back to the Charr and was like "Argh! I'm going to need to find a helmet model I like, because I want to wear a helmet." But then I thought about how I could probably make a human look like Neo from the Matrix by dying a jacket black and then replace the in-game combat music with Matrix music for my own amusement.
In the end I settled with a Charr. I still need to think of a leather helmet model though. I just don't like the idea of hats with big rims on a Charr. I'll probably settle with a mouth mask, but I might feel left out on hat models.
The most viable option is missing in your poll

I think it's a mix between Asura & Charr (voted Asura).
- Asura are more gadjets & war-machines heavy.
- Charr are more guns & engineering bombs / cannons.
So it's really a matter of flavor, really. If you like tech more, I'd say Asura. If you like big guns more, I'd say Charr.
did you read OP's text ?
Because the reasons he mention is all from a roleplay perspectiv, and from that point of view that OPTION doesn't belong there.
Uh, WHO are the ones creating Golemns? And mechanical cities? And creating alchemical...stuff? Asura baby, that's who.

Charr or Asura, now who is the best out of the two I don't know
Block the trolls, don't answer them, so we can remove the garbage from these forums
Not to mention I saw some guns that look Asuran. They kind of look like laser guns. I don't think any other race would look good with laser guns but the Asura.
Sylvari of course
I mean you can't beat a plant with a flamethrower
I have to go with Asura~ can't wait to see the little guys with massive rifles!
