Could I run this game on high with this computer? Recommend updates if I can't?

    No.
    Tesselation off
    Aa off
Advance gfx down to 0, you don't need it just fix rays and what have you
    Other sliders on medium

To run it on high at decent framerate you're looking at 6870 or 560gtx as a minimum

you should be able to get a decent framerate in DX9. I have played around with the video settings a lot and I found turning lighting to 1(which still gives you full shadows) and the last option which reads Advanced GFX turn that down to 1 or 2 and it really boosts your fps and makes the game run a ton smoother and overall looks about the same.

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

Your cpu is probably fine with being a high end i3 and a quad. Tsw is less cpu bound than say the gw2 beta. But it does require a fps level gfx card to get the most out of it.

Aero, put advanced on zero, massively UPS the framerate and you don't notice much difference graphics side as its extras like god rays and what have you.

Has anyone got a link to a not too expensive graphic card for the game? Thanks for the feedback so far!

I'll be upgrading my ram soon as well to eight gigs hopefully.

tried on my rig I can get smooth 60-70 fps with it at 1 and 2 also for whatever reason bumping it to 3 and 4 drops like 10-20 fps. For lower rigs yea probably better to set to 0

depends on what you consider not too expensive

Whats the speed of your ram?

4 Cores at 4.4Ghz is pretty good as TSW is really only using two of them so your better off with a small number of high clock rate cores than a bunch of slower cores assuming your cache and bus speeds are fast enough.

Your video card won't be able to keep up at max.  Even my 560 TI with 2GB of ram can't keep up at max.  Two 560 TI's probably could (I don't remember if TSW supports SLI or not though) or a 7970/670/680 should.  Again assuming you are not bottlenecking at your motherboard bus.

TSW taxes the crap out of my system to so make sure you have good air flow in the case if you are going to push it that hard.  If your CPU/Video card s more than about 8C over amibant room tempature idle you should look at better cases or other ways to get more air into the case.

Oh and why the heck are you running 32 bit Windows 7?  The 64 bit client handles memory so much better even if the games are 32 bit.

What's the wattage on your power supply?

If its over 450 you should be able to slot in a 6870 or 560gtx and play on high.

If you want to go ultra your looking at 560ti, 570gtx or 7850 (the last 2 probably letting you set 2* and 4* msaa on your card respectively rather than using fxaa)

    Udon:
I can play it on max at 50+ fps with hard aa on my card using a 7850. I suspect a 580gtx would cope as well too. You dont need a higher card than that, unless your using txaa and or 3d in which case you would need a 670/680

Check out this site which I find useful.

    http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

Keep in mind that I have a 8 core CPU running at 4.2Ghz and a 560 TI 2GB and I can't run at 60 fps at max.  I get around 20-30 depending on whats going on around me.  I don't need 60 fps to play as generally 40+ I don't notice much of a difference but some people are obsessed with those frames per second.

Edit:  Max for me is highest setting, tessellation on, and anti aliasing as high as I can go.  If you back any of those setting off your frame rate will improve.

Don't bother trying to upgrade your RAM, your OS won't allow more then 4GB.

I would recommend buying a new system or changing your perspective on what you want to get out of videogames.

Here is a few things to know about your computer and computers in general.

    • i3 is a weak dual core processor. It's not a quad core.
    • 32bit OS means 4GB memory cap, and 4GB's of RAM is low end these days. So if you want high end results, you can't have low end gear.
    • Brand name PC's like Gateway, HP, ACER , Dell are going to have power supply's only qualified for the hardware that came with them at purchase. They use as small of a power supply as possible to save on manufacturing costs.  So big upgrades on videocards, also means you should replace your power supply at the same time.

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.

I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.

There's nothing high end nor quad core about a Core i3.  Two cores plus hyperthreading is not the same as four cores.  It's Clarksdale, which Intel's budget lineup for 2010.

    -----

Buying a 32-bit OS was probably a blunder, as that means you can't use very much system memory.  Will that affect this game?  I don't know, but it might--especially if you like to have a browser open while playing the game.

A GeForce GTS 450 is somewhat over the mimimum required specs for the game, but not dramatically so.  It should be able to run the game, but I doubt that it would run smoothly on high settings.

What you can upgrade to depends on which case you have and which power supply.  Speaking of which, what do you have?

I have a 64 bit OS. Not sure why it says 32 bit. I can handle more than 4 gigs ram.

How do I find out my power output? To make it easier to find a new graphic card.

I pretty much have what you have with Win7, Ram, exact same video card but my comp is E5800 3.20GHz. I run it on DX9 high settings and get an average frame rate of 30fps - 35fps with big dips now and then but to help with that I downloaded the latest BETA nvidia driver and in the control panel forced Vertical Sync.

One of the things you forgot to mention its the screen you have. Its not the same to play it at 1280x1024 or at 1920x1200.
Im playing at 1900x1200, all setting at max, with aa forced through the drivers and i ussualy got between 40-50fps, around 30 in fusang with big groups of players on screen.
    My computer have a fx8120 amd cpu (8cores, 3,1ghz) 16gb ram and a 7970 radeon

    I play with 1920x1080 ^^

And thanks! How would I go about forcing vertical sync? :o

Running secret world on a dual core 3 GHz, 8 GB ram and geforce 250 graph :) Not an issue :)
