If anyone hasnt seen the new teaser trailer, here it is http://www.youtube.com/callofduty?x=interactive.
I didnt start playing COD games till Black Ops and I really enjoyed it. Iv since been playing a ton of MW3 and like it even more.
First impressions for me were it looked a bit far fetched, especially the horses in the teaser, I thought that was really strange along with the theme of it being in the future. I wouldnt have minded at all if it was still in the cold war era, I really really love that theme but its new game and they need something fresh I understand. Im not burned out on the series though since I didnt start playing till the first Black ops so my opinion on what should and shouldnt be in this game will differ from someone that has been playing them every year.
I hope they use a new engine from there last game, the one they used previously was outdated to say the least in my opinion plus it didnt run near as well as MW3 engine I think, both games got there niche though and I enjoyed them both. Im sure there will be some great killstreak rewards in Black Ops 2 just looking at all the crazy flying choppa's.

Don't get me wrong, they are high quality, good games, I just can't keep up with the madness. Plus it got a little boring after about the 3rd iteration.
I wish they would shake it up a bit, but I'm sure they don't want to alienate the ten million people that buy their expansion every year.

Just think the trailer looks weird when its suppose to be futuristic and then horses appear! Doesn't seem like it meshes well together.
From what I understand, the game still has parts in the 1980s with Mason and the futuristic setting is played with his son. Also after reading a little more into the campaign, it actually is fairly intriguing. Apparently they're incorporating decisions and allowing for more freedom in missions. Perhaps this is exactly what COD needs.
I liked what they did with the first Black Ops, building the story/setting loosely around real events that occurred during the Cold War. I was kind of hoping they'd stay with the same concept, except have the main character(s) be the secret driving force in the breakup of the Soviet Union in the late 80s and early 90s.
The hypothetical future thing has been done adequately with the Modern Warfare arm of the series IMO, and it risks becoming too cybtertech/sci-fi, which is its own genre of shooter and gets pretty far from CoD's roots. I guess we'll see.
I miss playing COD with my friends! Especially the salvage game.
