I picked guildwars up thinking i might like it better then WoW but after playing it for 5 days or so i just sorta gave up on it, its been sitting in my closet for like 2 months now and I havnt touched it since i went back to WoW so i figured I would give my account away to some one who would get some use out of it. Im not sure if its possible to download the client or what, but if it is, and you want a account send me a PM and ill give it to you. Just please only contact me if your going to really use it, dont just get it because you can.

I really don't consider guild wars a game for "serious gamers"
Guild Wars doesn't give that much more benifit to someone that plays 20+ hours a week, then someone that plays 5. In WoW if you play more you get more PvP points, can play the AH better, and complete epic gear sets. In WoW if you play more you can reach a certain lvl (exp, raid, or PvP) fast enough for it to mean something. First few people to 60 or first guilds that kill a certain raid mob matters. First few people that get uber weapon #1 are envied and feared.
In GW progress comes too fast for any of that to matter... People lvl up, and aquire the best items so quickly everyone has them and it doesn't matter. Thus in GW all you get from playing more, is money, or fame(PvP points). Both which mean nothing.
A serious gamer in GW is a player that had epic skills and etheral weapons 2 days before everyone else. I would assume most seroius gamers would have left by now. PvP is fun an all but 20+ hours of pointless PvP a week gets boring. The end game dungeons also become pointles as you can aquire the best weapons and focus/shields for just a few gold.
GWs is a good game to play causally. Or after every X-pack you can just reinstall the game and power game for another week till you get bored again. GW can easily be played on the side. Get all your WoW buddies and have a GW night once a week. GW is IMO not a game you should quit another game to play... unless you only want to play a game about 10hours a week.
I've been looking for a more PVP based, more mature kind of game (you can see in the general section). You would probally make me cry in happiness if you gave me your account. I'd be playing the game quite a bit, definitly making use of it. I have the resources to pa monthly, but not to buy a CD key.

Wow 5 days -.-
dude to end all the game(for now)its like 1 month for each char :
well i mean to end all the missions for now :
if u got bored from 5 days then ur very wierd O_o
You could be at end game within a weekend if you got rushed... a week if you could pay 12+ hours a day. A month if you do it casual.
Harlee... The game requires no fee to play. It is very PvP based. But WoW is 100x more mature then GWs.
i will take it and i will use it. my friend has it so i can download the game onto my computer. pm me the account info or key or whatever
If you read back reviews or introductions written by 3rd party about GW, it was once stated.. Guildwars isnt all about level grinding, it only takes up 4 hours per day of gameplay and up to 2 weeks to get your character at lvl 20. Not to forget, you have tons of homework to be done such as capturing elite skills for your primary and secondary prof. and also! unlock as many upgrades / skills as possible for PVP use.
GW itself isnt boring, its only you time management cause it boring.
people play GW for FUN, its the same reason people play counterstrike or any other competitive sport. epic skills and etheral weapons? lol skills you can unlock in "2 days" as you say because thats how long it takes to get to lvl 20, so those "serious" gamers get them 2 days before eveyrone else? lol, granted that you have to cap the elite skills, but with the x5 faction system in place now, getting skill unlocks is easier than ever. weapons? press create character, pvp character, and you will start with the best weapon for your class...
you are one of those people that are used to the idea of a triditional RPG, in GW item, money, etc does not matter, what matters is that you are having fun while playing it. i know i have fun play GW because i am in a very competitive guild and when we win the Hall of Heros i know our team deserved it. and when we beat people in GvG we get the satisfaction that we outsmart our enemies, not out leveled them.
GW is a very different game, if you are wanting to be the only one one the server with a very rare item, or be the top lvl character, then this is not for you. this game is for people who actualy want to use their wits instead of time to beat their enemy.
To the people that don't play any more... can I have your accounts?
I think the biggest reason why people are so disappointed with GW is because they expect it to be an MMORPG. But its not MMORPG. Its barely even a MMO - u see all those people in the city only, but outside, its all instanced for u and your group.
Its kinda a breed of counterstrike and diablo, with a touch of WoW. It wasnt supposed to feed the hardcore MMORPG. Its not my type of game in general, but i like to just get in and fight in arena whenever I feel like it. And theres always hunt for the rare skills to make u even more powerfull. THere are lots of strategies in GW, you gotta kill theo ther team, who tries to counteract your specific set of players with theirs, and you try to counteract theirs and so on so on, similar to Magic The Gathering.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

If I try to play the game like it was a MMORPG, I get bored really easily. However, if I approach it like a good FPS or RTS, I find that I have a lot of fun playing it. Bottom line is, this game is not a MMORPG and should not be played like one. It's like expecting Age of Empires out of Starcraft.

I'm thinking when you read my post you thought I considered myself a serious gamer.... I agree with your post completely. I used my post to explain why people need to ease off the game a bit instead of trying to power game it... and burning out, because there is no benifit to power gaming in GWs.
if any of you guys want to give away your account i'll take it with hands wide open
nooooooo not again.
everyone knows it now, all people who play gw hate wow and all people who play wow hate gw. just stop now writing on such boring topics where people say always the same thing!!!
I play GW and WoW and i like both of them.

I quit playing Guild Wars after I've beat the game 5 times, unlocked over 85% of every skill.
Even with the SoF patch I'm still bored out of my mind. Everyone wants "green items" and no one really wants to help with missions.
It's a great game, one of the best I've played, but I guess 3 months hardcore into the game just burnt me out.
If you're not a solo monk, then no one wants you. It gets old fast.
"To the people that don't play any more... can I have your accounts?"
I've spent to many hours to just "give" my account away.
Sorry.
What will he do next?
honestly, i think ur another WoW fan.. dont get me wrong i play wow myself but i still think GW is much much better!
so someone who wants to play a game which invlolves skill and stratergy GW is that game for u!!!
serious gamers play GW plain and simple.. if u dont like it dont play it and cry about it!
I really hope you're not talking to me.
I have over 1400 hours in Guild Wars, I've done EVERYTHING you can... why would I waste any more time with something that bores me?
I highly enjoy it, why else do you think I would do the storyline 5 times and PvP my heart out... Again, I really hope you're not adressing that to me.
What will he do next?
Greetings,
oh I am getting tired of you kids always nagging about how you are not satisfied about GW. What is your problem? If you do not "play/like" the game it is not a "worldwide catastrophe" for those who love and enjoy playing GW. I do not like it if you turn this forum into "little anti GW group of pro Blizzard geek fan club" Here should be a place for GW fans and enthusiasts. You have your own WOW section and nag there or to your mom. Please understand that I have nothing against WOW. I wanted it to play last year, but had way too much work so I have skipped WOW hype. Then after one month I have bought GW and I must admit that this game was a big/positive surprise for me. I love it! I am a coder and know well how much work is to produce/design/code such game and please give some respect to all people who do the hard work bringing this wonderful worlds to us (yes WOW included). GW is not the first nor the last game for me. What you are doing on every day basis is simply called "pissing contest" and that tells me that I am dealing with immature kids (nothing wrong with that I was there once) or with haters. Please... enjoy your game and leave others enjoy theirs.
Happy gaming,
Sir.Edlin
p.s. Arenanet (creators of GW) are ex Blizzard (WOW) developers and some of them also help creating WOW. Looks like that atmosphere at Blizzard is not that good for creative people since another team was formed at http://www.red5studios.com/ from ex Blizzard developers.
u have read too much grandfather stories about GW vs WOW.. i am playing both of it and even AO.. i can say i love what they are and how they are... just get your thoughts out of those junks.. its no point remembering those l a m e flaming threads.
its bad for your health.
Bent, you're a fool. WoW is more mature because you can obtain an item that no one else might not have (or very few other players) and be "feared"? That doesn't make it more mature, if anything the whole elitist, I can spend 60 hours a week playing a game and being uber and you can't attitude just makes it immature. These stupid rants about GWs inadequacies based on its pick-up-and-play dynamic are utterly moronic. I'll answer two questions right now.
1) GW is a game GEARED TOWARDS CASUAL PLAYERS. You stupid Everquest fanboys/girls need to go to the EQ forums and post there. I don't buy plums and then complain to the grocer that they're not enough like apples.
2) The reason GW is up on the site isn't because it's a "True MMORPG" but because it is an alternative for those of us who enjoy the tactical, skill based combat in MMORPGs and the fantasy setting but have lost the time to play 4-6 hours a day to be "respected" or "admired" as Bent indicates.
I don't care if you guys prefer the EQ 1 ethic to GW. That's great but don't talk about how its boring because it's not like EQ 1. There were a million indicators that this game was not for that crowd, they weren't hiding it or glossing it over or out right lying about it (as EQ 2 currently is). Just go back to WoW and grind out 3 more months to hit lvl 60 and be able to experience all the content. For those of us who have real world obligations, well, we'll find our kicks else where.
Before I go, saying that GW is pointless because you don't get to experience content (loot, dungeons, etc.) that others can't, presumably because you have much more time to play, would be like saying that CS is pointless or immature merely because every new map your previous score is erased. People play GW PvP because it's *gasp* FUN! Also, I don't play GW anymore. It just wasn't my cup o' tea.
No am not a fool... Though I almost made myself one in response to you.... I still play and enjoy Guild Wars and it is the only online game I play...
My postings we're made in response to previous posters...
the first, to triptronic was to encourage him to considering giving the game to a non "serious gamer" as I believe serious gamers burn out quickly in GWs. since GWs is made for the causal gamer.
My second post was to harlee whom thought GW was a more mature game... If he killing players he may be right in consdering GWs... But if he meant community... IMO Guilds has the most immature community of any MMO class game... worse than even WoW. Play random arena or try to do a mission with a PuG and if you group doesn't map out to the word "noob" and cursing then you are blessed. Thankful with instancing you can avoid them all.

It seems if it wasn't for your misunderstanding and preception of opinions I never offered that we would be more or less in agreement.

Guild Wars does get extremely boring after awhile...I gave up on my last mission (Thirsty River) before ascending i just got so bored with it and kept getting idiot groups. Guildwars just is not my kind of game...
One thing i didnt like was how you get 'your own world' Even though there is no way of Kill Stealing, I guess im just more of a social gamer. Playing Guild Wars was sorta like playing a singleplayer game...And it is sort of 'planned out' like sigle player rpg's which i absolutley hate. I Like to make my own adventure, make my character unique and unlike anyone elses. I guess i am just more of an Everquest Online Adventures kind of guy still.
