Stop feeding us such ridiculous awesome teasers!! Just when i thought I can just can skip this next beta so I can save my excitement for launch, you come up with something new to torture me with. I DID NOT EVEN PLAN ON PLAYING ASURA OR SYLVARI, DAMNIT!! Now I think one of the two will most likely be my main race

you might not, but what about the people that are?
What about them testing out the races and areas first to make sure things are good before releasing?
They have people testing constantly, the BWE are really just to get massive amounts of data quickly.
I do plan on trying both of them this weekend though.
I hate the Asura. Hate!
They are like gnomes but with everything even vaguely likable about them stripped away and replaced by ginormous ears.
But I so can't wait to roll one up. Gah!

Honestly, i like the Sylvari and Asura. While inspired by the Gnomes and Elfs, the twist is atleast refreshing in terms of fantasy rpgs. The only one i don't like is Norn.
We will have an Asura Uprising, just like the Lurikeen uprising... so many small races, and they all look different, people that discriminate small races are number one on my to kill list... An asura fireball will hit atleast as hall as a Norn Fireball, and Maybe even harder because you dont expect it
All these small races have their roots in European Mythology
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
Hahah yea same here, I try to play some BF3 but right now it feels like.. meh!
I try to watch re-runs of some tv show on the computer to distract myself but I end up thinking of what date today is and I will do the same tomorrow and I will continue to do so until BW3 and ultimately launch.
I have a few beers and try to enjoy my vacation.. but BWE3 is always on my mind... *sigh*
If you need distractions, check out the Steam summer sale. You can get like 10 games for under 50 bucks if you really wanted. I have been buying some here and there for 1-5 bucks a pop, and is definitely worth it. And keeping my mind off of waiting around for GW2
There has never, ever, been anything even remotely likeable about gnomes.
This is why you Bookahs need to be in a controlled breeding program.

I personally think that the Charr are the most unique race in GW2, though I really do like the Sylvari/Asura for their twists on the Elf/Dwarf stereotype.
EDIT: I also think it is amusing that the racial traits usually reserved for dwarves, i.e. obsession with ale, feats of strength, etc. are now attached to a race of giants. That said, though, I'm not a big fan of the Norn.

The only game I can play for any length of time is TF2 right now, the anticipation is so great. And to top the whole thing off, my wife just came in talking about where to go to eat for our anniversary this year. While discussing different locales, I realized that our anniversary, 8/26, falls right smack dab in the middle of the head start. I work Saturdays and Mondays, off Sundays and Tuedays. Damn marriage

That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!
There is no way ill be skipping BWE3, being able to play the coolest of the races.
Talked to an asura npc in game and he insulted my toon, found that to be pretty cool...
I've played quite a few gnomes over the year so I'll probably go Asura, at least for my first character.
I feel your pain. We're going on family vacation 8/27th for a freakin' week. So, I get basically 1 1/2 days to hurry up, roll some characters, get my wife and kids set with theirs and play as much as I can before I have to pack (1/2 day) and then go.
Stupid families.

Just do like I do. I have all five slots already planned out. 1 solt, 1 race. Each a different perfession. I think elementalist and especially rangers will be VERY popular for the sylvari IMO.
As it is I don't see myself getting any toon to 80 in the near future anyway.
With how they have this system setup though I maybe lying to myself
A MMO is like life. It is something to cherish and enjoy upon in it journey. So why race to the end of it. In life at the end you die.
