Hall of Monuments Weapon/Armor Rewards :)

gessekai332gessekai332 Member UncommonPosts: 861

Who here has got their hall of monuments from GW1 done and ready to harvest their awesome unique skins that only GW1 veterans are entitled to? I am personally looking forward to my fiery dragon sword and fellblade :)

I decided to get to about 15/50 when Eye of the North came out simply because 16-30 rewards didn't interest me.  The GW1 set of armor and the fire sword / diamond shield was a must for me.  The felblade also looked interesting, but I'm glad that I held back on getting it since they announced legendary weapons anyway.

Armor Set + fire swords + diamond shield + black moa + rift warden title.

    :)

Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

I recently got all 30 points, took a while too. I intend to enjoy going around with various pieces of everything as the game progresses.

I'm pretty excited about running around with that awesome Fiery Dragon Sword as well. The Diamond Aegis is another one I'm looking forward to.

30/50 here, took me about a month and a half with a new account, having never played the game to get there. The game was probably good in its prime, but I was so bored of farming plant fibers by the time it was over, I was ready to uninstall and never look back lol.

For anyone just starting out, don't forget to go to Balthazar when you can and get your 10 free z keys, then sell them to a player for 5.5k each. You can buy minis for 1-3k if you're willing to spend the time spamming trade for them. Good way to get some points in the beginning. I got lucky and even got some golds/purples along with white for 1-3k when I started from people.

I only have 6/50 right now. Just been too lazy to really get rolling on it. I am much more of a multiplayer/social player. Grinding stuff endlessly by myself is terribly boring with no one to talk to or play with. I might try to get a few more points, and I can always go back and try to get more if I really want to. That is going to be very hard to do once GW2 hits though ;)

oh my god, you got the game just to get the rewards points?? wow that must have been hell. lol. Yeah my account is super old with decked out characters so I was able to get the points in a lot of different ways instead of only having to farm crafting materials.

I'm at 16/30 and started just after BWE1. I'll play through a couple more dungeons to have enough gold to craft me 3 norn armour pcs. to earn 1 more point for 3 armour sets, but I call it quits there. Just cba to grind title tracks or more gold to buy minis and weapons. Funny that my most points come from Fellowship even though I didn't group up once, guess AI are fellows too.

    50/50.

The Fellblade has always been one of my favourites as well.

I'm also looking forward the orange tabby and the titles. :)

Good point there. I almost feel guilty that I just bought Nightfall and EotN cheap after BWE1, to catch up on the lore and earn a few points but I still got to 16 but could've gotten to 30 if I had grinded or also bought Factions to make it even easier. Same with the name reservation, anyone can reserve a name by just buying 1 of the campaigns for 5 euro.

Think it would've been more fair if they had tied it into an account creation date, eg all accounts created before 1-1-12 are eligible to keep earning rewards.

Sincerely, the peeps going 50/50 or even 30/50 in 6 months might as well deserve it - that was a hell of a grind, even with recent boosts given by Anet. You guys probably need a shrink after that torture.

its fine, i actually had fun getting my points and playing the game again. I wanted to stop at 15 or 20 but i just kept going because i was having a good time. He probably just went through hell, lol. i first started guild wars when it first came out, and played the shit out of it. I dont mind that other people who just got the game can also get the reward as well. I dont feel entitled to anything in GW2 because its a BRAND NEW game, I am more than happy that I was able to get anything at all (including my original character names that i created back in 2005).

Aye hubby and I both bought all campaigns and played like crazy and farmed plant fiber so much we were sick of the game by the time we got 30/50. Finished all primary campaigns except eye of the north. It was brutal mind numbing grind through it all but at least we are done now.

im like 33/50 pts.. I truely enjoyed the game and felt a little annoyed I heard such bad things about it that it kept me from it. However I wish the free trial was NOT Prof.. I feel it will chase away players more than bring them in.

I managed 30/50 in two months and though it was a grind, I found the story and lore to be worth it. I too regretted never getting this game sooner!

I'm a unique and beautiful snowflake.

Does the trial start with pre?

Pre and prophecies are quite slow paced - they should make nightfall the trial.

yes it does and I totally agree.. I loved nightfall. Although the Factions intro was very nice at expaining things but then starts you into the main campaign too early >.< like 4 lvls too early! Oddly enough I didnt actually start any char in Nightfall even though it was my favorite campaign.

Nah, I only have 8 titles. I didn't want to grind out titles so I went with grinding for money to buy stuff.
Hubby grinded more titles than I did, because he wanted the heroic modes for all the missions to save him from grinding money. Hubby also likes the story in games where I just spacebar or escape through it, I don't really care about the lore of a game, I'm more of a pvp'er, though with GW1 I didn't bother with pvp. I just preferred to grind plant fibers outside ToA on Heroic mode for my money for my HoM points. Solo'ing with a SoS Rit made that very easy.

So, does anyone know HOW we will receive our HOM rewards in GW2? Has there been an announcement I missed?

Are they going to be mailed to us ingame, or will we have to collect them from a HOM rewards vendor, or what?

We'll get an ingame item to link the accounts at headstart or release if you didn't pre-purchase.

    http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hall_of_Monuments

According to Guild Wars 2 developers, you will have the option of "Declaring your ancestor" to receive the Hall of Monuments rewards by linking your Guild Wars 2 game account with one Guild Wars game account.[2]

    • You will be able to link a single Guild Wars game account to your Guild Wars 2 game account by using a Guild Wars 2 in-game item.
      • Only accounts with the Eye of the North expansion and who have unlocked the Hall of Monuments are eligible for rewards.
    • After using the item, you will visit the Guild Wars 2 version of the Hall of Monuments, where you can claim your rewards.
    • This Hall of Monuments can be visited by any Guild Wars 2 character and as often as you like.
