Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone else is having this issue also?
I can run the new patcher and it's runs but I see nothing on the screen. I can see it as a running process, but all I can do is kill the running task. I can however run the patcher with the -useoldlauncher switch and it run the old launcher again with no problems!
Anyone else?

Edit update your adobe flash and see if it helps it looks like the patcher is flash based now but i could be wrong
relax, its only wednesday. don't do anything stupid to it, you will regret it. the last two BWE they fixed the launcher and stuff the last minute.

It's still beta.
I checked my launcher right now and I don't have that problem. Did you try to contact support?

Just a note, you're supposed to click on "Log in" not on "Play" with the new launcher.
Unless you check "Auto play" then it will Auto Login first then start the game.

Same issue here. Checked off the 'save user/save password' and 'auto-play'. Came back into the launcher and the user name hadn't stuck. Couldn't click 'play'. Oh well, I'll try it later.
My patch was just 180.96mb so maybe your patch downloaded incorectly. I would recomend a reinstall before friday.
If you have problems create a shortcut to the .exe and add -image at the target line. It should read:
"C:Guild Wars 2Gw2.exe" -image
Run the game with that and it will repair your installation

Report to GW2 beta forums, you'll probably get a better help there.
Reinstallation is just a pain and not worth it imo. Try making a new folder and transfer everything there and run again. see if it helps.

Ran the patcher today, it patched itself and then 1800+ files, worked flawlessly.

After clicking 'log on' instead of 'play' I got the (both happy and sad) 'There is no beta/event running...' message. Ah well. Good to go for tomorrow.
It runs fine with the new one. I updated two days ago (07/17/2012) but wanted to see if there was another update yesterday. I ran another update (yesterday) and it did the same thing you experienced. I just used some thinking skills and went 'Ah, ha, people know the BWE is coming so they're patching.'
So I closed it through the task manager and re-did the process this AM. It worked fine. And there was another small update. (07/19/2012)
Be patient. Don't panic. And use your head instead of just running to the forums and posting doom and gloom (especially now because, after reading this thread, I see you're going to get a lot of bad advice as people jump to unsupported conclusions about the client instead of considering the server-side first). After all, it's NORMAL for download servers to get overwhelmed in situations like this. And while you may think that should not be so, you would not be happy to pay (in your game price) for all the extra servers and bandwidth they'd have to buy so you could download the entire game at will with no delays or potential for delay.
