Beta client size and file structure

  My client is 16,8 gig, but i played since the first bwe & i also only have 3 files. If it is up to date , do not worry

  That sounds right. It's a pretty simple system. GW2.exe and GW2.dat are the files that matter.

  Dont know if its gonna be the same "structure" in the release client, wich by the way is the beta client +updates (the size you mentioned seems about right, mine is (16.8gb)

   

  I think its an awesome move from ArenaNet since it reduces bandwidth from having to actually download a whole new client come release day.

  Thanks, looks like Im a few gigs short but patcher won't download anything new?

  Turn off your antivirus program and it should work.

  you probably downloaded the newer version, im still using the original.

  I did an update this morning and it updated with arouns 1800 files, it didnt seem a big file though

  Yep Im at the log on screen and the bottom say 100%

  When you first install GW2 the GW2.DAT is highly compressed. As you patch GW2.DAT becomes fragmented leaving unused space inside the file. Your GW2.DAT file size will be different depending on when you installed and how often you patch because it will contain gaps.

  Quetion to anyone here on the thread...

  Before launch, will our current beta client be just updated or will we be required to re-download the whole game?

  It will be updated, they patch it once a week it seems.

  dont worry G i just re-installed it over night and mine is 13.8GB also
