Funcom is nutz releasing TSW!

finaticdfinaticd Member Posts: 843

The factions are so imbalanced, templar steam rolls most servers as they have twice as many players as any other faction and games start when one faction is outnumbered,  not many quest...only 500 compared to 1000s  in any other MMO.  8 mission zones so fewer than any MMO in the last 15 years. Low sales, so many empty servers.  Stock dropped from $20 to $7 NoK. CEO resigned which may be good because last time he fired many developers.  Many bugged quest, which is bad in a game where quest are the end all.  Many players beat the game by beating the group instances at the hardest level.  Combat is the worsts since MMOs 15 years ago.  The combat wheel has no development effort, some random dude on aprenticeship threw it together and the same with the combat, Funcom lied when they said place holders as most skills are the same.  Not much effort was put into combat so PvP sucks,  The game is far to short if many players have done everything PvE wise in a couple of weeks.  The PvP is worse than any other MMO since warhammer,  most servers can't find PvP for the 2 instances stonehedge and um whatever the other is as I never got in. sad, because players will leave.  The large PvP zone is a copy of Ilum which MMO players hated.

Low scores all around from most reviews, no end game for MMO players. The highest price MMO to date, box+sub+cash shop, when the cash shop was built into the game.

cliche story writing even for video game standards.  Did I mention, combat is so  boring? Toon creater was overlooked as it is so bad, like the combat skill wheel and combat in general.

customer service issues again, and as always with funcom billing issues.

So why is TSW a single player RPG with boring combat, instances, and PvP selling for $340 when diablo sells for $60 with much more multiplayer, more players, and more content? diablo isn't a good game but TSW is a bellow average game as seen in all reviews.

If TSW released 3 years from now maybe it would be good.

Funcom has reviewed all of its assets relevant for
impairment testing. This process has led to
recognition of an impairment loss of around
3,1 MUSD for Age of Conan due to a decrease in
numbers of subscribers for the game. Funcom Q4 10 report.

i guess player's standards have dropped considerably lately.  they are willing to pay lot of cash for anything.

glad i saw it coming and decided not to waste my money with this game.

    Lol.
Opinions are subjetive, so you could think its a bad game and you are entitled to it, but many more think its one of the best mmorpgs out there
But some of the facts you wrote are wrong
You said templars stearolled all servers, but last week the score in the dimension i have my second character was Illumnati 5900 Templars 100 Dragons 0
It also didnt matter how many templars are, as all pvp zones have a cap, so 5v5v5 or 10v10v10 never have you outnumbered
You said lower number of quest that other games, lol the same as any othe, only you need to find many of the, they are not spoonfed you, and they a better than practically any othe game
Empty servers? There is only one server. Chat continually flooded with conversation so dudnt know were you saw empty "servers"
Lot of bugged quests? Im finishing Blue Montain. Thats around 120 diferent missions done. Only 4 bugged, so around 3%, and it took me less than 5 minutes each time to get and invite to a shard were they work, because the quest are not bugged, they become bugged in some shards sometimes when multiple people try to do them at the same time, messed one with snother and some left it blocked
Combat it the standard in any tab targeted mmorpg, nor worse, nor better and the skill wheel its one of the best, if not the best, character development system out there, but that its my opinion, and its subjetive. If you think that using one builder and one finisher its all you need, then yes, combat its going to be boring, and you are going to be facerolled prety soon. But you inability to understand the system its not a flaw of the game
So many servers couldnt find a match in stonehenge or el dorado? Lol, this make me laugh so hard, the matchs in the battlegrounds are crossdimensional, people are picked in a first come, first served across all server, no matter what dimension they are. If you look at its score, the same in all dimensions, as only on score exists, in my timeframe there is around 30-45 match every hour in stonehenge, so a match start every two minutes
Price its the standard for any mmo fot the last ten years (at least here in europe). Cash shop? Cash shop its optional, so it only make the game expensive if you are interested in fluff
Story is one the best i have encountered in any mmo that i have played since i star playing them with the realm, but this is a subjetive opinion
The same with pvp, its the only game i found since daoc that have an interesting pvp system
D3 more content that tsw? Well, if what you want from tsw was a wow clone to skip the game and them repeat endlessly the same raid instance hundred of times, yes, tsw have no content for you. For me it would last at least 2 months, playing around 25-30 hours a week, before i ended the main story and then i still will have many things to do, plus the added monthly missions and stuff. D3would entertain me, perhaps, for a couple of days.
So, obviously the game was not designed with you as the target market. But its okay. Not all games should be designed for you. For me, i have so much fun playing it :) last time a mmorpg entertain me so much was Asheron Call at launch

Well Finaticd - to define success for Funcom games is an easy task.
As long their subscriber numbers stay above the amount of characters wrote in your anti-funcom-troll-postings its assured you never be wrong to call them success!

Agreed, there's no point to addressing his posts anymore, he's gone way over the edge of reasonable discussion.

I know its all about forum pvp, but really, you have to keep your points someone reasonable and realistic, otherwise no one will take you seriously.

TSW is certainly not the most perfect MMORPG ever made, it has many flaws of course,  but many redeeming qualities as well which make the title fun for some folks, but not everyone.

Pretty much like every game out there, look at the GW2 forums and you'll see wildly varying opinions there too.

    Liar - troll - block - goodbye.

    Plausible credibility - denied.

TSW is not perfect, no game ever will be but it does step off the beaten path, your assertions (OP) are way off the norm, looking up your post history there is a recuuring theme of hyperbole & exaggeration which is acute even for a site with MMORPG's reputation for combative posters.

If you can't be reasonably subjective you need another hobby.

this guy is starting to annoy me. on the other hand its good advertisemnet for TSW.

  • minitarominitaro Member Posts: 42

OP has posted 890 times on mmorpg, until they were all negative posts about Age of Conan, but now he has moved onto TSW. It is amazing how someone can spend so much time on a game they obviously don't like and care for. Imagine what he could have accomplished if he had spent the time doing something productive?

I think OP is one of those ppl who like attention. even if its bad attention :)

If someone is talking in general chat in a language you dont understand, chances are they're not talking to you. So chill out and stop bitching about it!

Sorry Finaticd, Fallenlords writes better negative posts than you. Fallenlords > Finaticd = Better !#OLL. You been out of the forums to long.
