Hey all, I am looking for a game (does not have to be an mmo) that has awesome customization and multiplayer and a great community. I want to be able to show off how well I customized my character or w/e.

Mabinogi has a large deal of character customization. Albeit, it can come at a cost. To get the most out of your options, you would need to buy new hairstyles and what not in the fashion shop with Pon, which you buy with NX...which you buy with real currency.
Other than that though, you can still make a very cool looking character without the "premium" Hair/Mouth/Eyes etc styles. You can change the color of most any piece of equipment, some even have different segments to color. I'll put it shorter than usual, there are players known as Fashinogis, they tend to play the game for only the fashion and what not ( I do so believe that they have even been acknowledged by Devcat, there is a certain title for it or something)
Other than that...I believe All Point(s) Bulletin (APB) boasts an extensive character creation system.

Id say GW2, lots of customising you can do, walk around strutting your stuff and as everyones saying and I agree with, lots of RP'ers XD
