ROSE Online, and all it's glory

Many of you know about the game ROSE Online, and many of you think it wasn't as good as most people hyped it up to be. But the only reason most people gave it the thumbs down was because they never got into the truely amazing worlds of ROSE. To really get to know the game, and it's workings, you have to play until level 25, at least level 25. Only then can you appreciate ROSE to it's fullest. The economy isn't controlled by NPC's, which is what most MMORPG's do, so it's totally up to the players to decide how much a Vital Jam +5 is really worth; supply and demand. How much more does this game need to offer you before you will acknowledge it's greatness? I'm fully aware that ROSE has left the Open Beta Testing, and moved onto the next stage, Close Beta, but please, when eROSE is launched, I urge you all to at least buy a month's worth, and try it for yourselves. You'll thank me afterwards. This game is addictive, fast-pasted, and huge; seven planets! I believe ROSE is the greatest MMORPG out there, and nothing will come close to it in a long time.

Not to be an arse or anything, but players ultimately control the economy. I have yet to encounter an MMORPG where NPC's buy/sell things that people actually want in auction houses and the like.. People ultimately make the final say if they want to buy it so no.. I think you're heavily mistaken. Take for example, WoW. Players decide what Arcane Crystals go for, of -course- you could sell it to an npc for 1 gold, but you could get it for 25 times over if you can actually go out and communicate. Nothing personal, it just doesn't impress me and it's been done before. (No, I haven't played it.. it just seems that people seem to think RO and Rose are the only gmaes they've played)

I'm going to have to agree with you, but like your signature says somethings can be right and useless. Take your post for example; perfectly right in everyway, but coming from someone who's never played ROSE and they're puting it down, is quite useless in my eyes. If you have no experience in a certain field, then why are you arguing against it? I appreciate and respect your post, but next time, don't post unless you know what you're talking about, specifically. Thank you.

Umm.. I do know what I'm talking about.. I've played tons upon tons of MMORPG's. NPC's have never made the market for items, it's players. NPC items, at a usual, lesser goods than player crafted or found goods. You may disagree with me, but there are many players here whom would agree with me as well. I mean no disrespect, it's just that players have -always- ran the economy. They decide how much to buy things and how much to sell.

I've played almost 50 mmo's now so I am pretty knowledable about gameplay limitations on games and such and here is what I can tell you.

The real power in the market is the ability for players to buy things from NPC's for a discounted rate then sell them back to players and make a profit.  Thats one thing that is rarely done in mmos.  It also includes being able to use the shop.

One thing ROSE lacks despite using the same engine as RO is the communication System.  RO's communication system is hands down the best.  Very easy to use and easy to sit around talking for hours.

One thing I like about the recent release of ROSE is the quest pop-up thingy.  Makes the leveling tread-mill slightly easier. I also love the party setup in rose.  In other games partying has many negative connotations with limited exp being earned.  The cool thing about parties in ROSE are party levels.  As you level you gain party exp, and the higher the party level is the more exp the characters in your party earn.  Generally after 25 you are always in a party, even if the other members are complete strangers.

The problem is ROSE is going to start losing customers soon since Gravity is entering thier Lead Project into closed beta soon, Ragnarok Online 2.  RO2 appeals to the same crowd as ROSE.

I agree, the party system in ROSE was genius. The party levels were a very well done system, and made staying in your party worth just that much more. Although, the grind in ROSE is one of the worst I have ever seen, the game does have potential. Sure, you need to get to level 25 to get to the real fun. BUT if you read the poll, people rate a game by how long it takes until they can start having fun, not on how long they need to grind before they start having fun.

People want fun, not grind. If they can fix the starting of the game, to add more quests and things to do, then the game will hit it off big. Right now, the beginning of the game is just spammed player shops, and grinding the same 10 monsters. More quests will = more fun. I posted this on the 'weekly comment' questions they would post up every week. They had a general one asking what would make the game more fun, and I wrote up a 5 paragraph essay on what the game needed ::::28::

Anyways, the game has some cool features, but until they fix the grind, its just not worth the time.

Not to be a jerk or anything but players have always made the economy. You just don't see it as easy as in RO, ROSE, or Lineage 2, or even EverQuest. It's been this way, always.

I was a lvl 75 soldier before the first wipe out and a lvl 40 bow hawker. But i find that the game is really fun, except the levelling grinding. But i have no comments about anything else.. What i love ROSE is the art.

I have played ROSE, and it may be a decent game (for a 5 year old) but it's way to kiddie for me. Killing jelly beans isnt exciting. This is a children's game, so please, post your ages when talking about how much you love this game and are going to buy it. I think it would be intresting to see   :)

im 18 years old and im gonna buy it, like its a shame to say that, ive played with a dude who is 27 years old and hes a policeman, like thats a shame...

Hmm, personally I'm quite sick of having to grind. But I'm tolerating it in ROSE. Just about. I've finally got passed having to kill jellybeans. But now I'm working on Pumpkins.image

I'm pretty open minded, so its not that I mind playing with super cute anime characters. I mean look at Nintendo!

I just feel that its lacking in the combat. Like most MMOs are. Hopefully the MMOs coming out in 2006 will be more appealing. Personally I'm looking forward to Age of Conan the most.

Currently waiting for the MMO industry to put out something good.

Sincerly, i have tried out this game and it is amazing! I used to have a high level character and tried all the classes and this free MMorpg is so far, one of the best i have played. People decide what the price of items are, because many items are not sold in stores. You can open your own shop and buy and sell things. A lot of people like me sold items too beginners for more profit ( yes i admit it ).
And the landscape is preatty good, but the game is HUGE.image
