I'm not entirely sure who you are "replying" to or if you're just interjecting additional troll bait, but whatever it may be, it only proves you don't read your own sig before you post.
Golly gee... maybe the OP since I didn't quote anyone?
Been the norm to assume that since I've posted on forums. Not sure how that contradicts my sigs either but whatever floats your boat lollipop.
Try actually reading them sometime. You might be enlightened.
He lost me at the Failcom avatar, with a persona like that just about evey post could be perceived as "additional troll bait".
Look up hypocrisy my friend...what is the comment under your avatar if not "troll-bait?
My point is, your sig represents or dictates an anti elitist agenda while exemplifying the exact same outcome. Maybe you don't mean to contradict yourself but your "OP reply" smells an awful lot like someone who thinks he knows what he's talking about when obviously he doesn't.
So in other words...my sig doesn't account for your inane response at all but since you think by my response I'm against your game that was what you grasped onto. Mmkay..think most could figure that out anyways but thanks for clarifying.
For the record, not that you deserve it, but I'm really gung ho about this game. But this topic is about as troll bait as you can get. Feel free to keep grasping at assumptions though. I mean why stop now?
...and this coming from someone with your avatar? Really? Wow...
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
Please forgive me, I wasn't wearing my "SEE SARCASM" glasses. However, after reading your post again with them on, I still don't see the "support" for GW2 you speak of. Color me clueless tonight, cause your 9 clouds above me.
Are you drunk? Wtf are you even going on about at this point?

That would be true if I randomly posted nonsense in Funcom game forums. Unfortunately, I don't do that sort of thing as it's a waste of my time and the readers time as well. In order to "TROLL" you actually have to be actively engaging said community. It really does make a difference.
It could be argued that you are engaging TSW fans with every post you make, that was the point I was interjecting. Really though what it was that sparked my response was; I am in full agreement with Wicked's original post. The term "hater" is simply misused (as is the term fanboi).
WHat is a hater really? Would a hater admit to being a hater and wrong? No, a true hater has nothing more than an agenda to rile up fans. A troll if you will...
A person who actually gives a game a chance is the complete opposite of that at least one who would freely admit it.

I haven't really followed GW2 much, but since it's just one purchase then F2P, I might give it a go when it's out. Will be nice to not have a subscription fee but I still wonder how long it will keep me interested.
Your guess is as good as mine, as I said, I dont see the support for GW2 in your original post that you want me to see. If you want me to break this concept down for you, I can. Otherwise, I'll just leave it with the fact your post either didn't make any sense for proving what you thought it did or maybe you're drunk, I don't know.
Pretty self explanatory.
These boards are pretty self explanatory at this point.
Lot of avid gamers with some good advice and info.
...and then there are topics like these. If you can't see the difference then far as I'm concerned you're part of what is wrong with the current mmo community. Think that goes without saying anyways really considering the assumptions you already made.

Me, it still has every flaw I've ever said it had and potential to fail, but it also has potential to be decent so I am willing to give it a shot. Really more so than any potential I see in the game, there is just so much fail in the mmoverse at the moment that I feel I must take a chance on this game if I want to have an mmo to play. WoW sucks , and has sucked since BC, SWTOR is a shallow single player game with bad class balance and no end game, f2p titles aren't my thing, not a big fan of pay 2 win, so this is what I have left.
TSW and this game were close for me, if I don't like gw2 I'll try that one next. GW2 edged them out only because I like the world and character models better, it was that close.
GW2 is pay 2 win, so you might want to rethink your choice. Anyone who thinks this isn't pay 2 win is not paying attention or just fooling themselves because they've already pre-ordered and don't want to feel dumb.
You know Sylvus, you keep saying were delusional fanbois, but I think it's really you that has some unattainable agenda to bash GW2 regardless of facts. If you want to prove me wrong, please, endulge me with how GW2 is a P2W game, cause I'd really love to know what you think P2W is.
After spending a good portion of today in WvW I finally understand why people are saying this game is Play-to-win and I am starting to agree with that assertion.
My experience in WvW was limited money gain vs. high repair costs every time I died which was leaving most of the team naked because they couldn't afford to repair their armour when we were originally matched against a full server and got slaughtered every time we stepped outside the door.
Later after the matchups changed we were left with a better situtation and got some more people on the server after people were transferring off full servers because they couldn't get into WvW (my server never had a queue for any of the zones). So we managed to take some castles and I made a bit of money from those captures, but still certainly not enough to buy siege weapons of any kind. I had about 12silver when I finished, but needed to spend 10s of that on the manual to unlock traits, so a 2s profit from a full day of WvW.
Anyway, I went off to dinner and when I came back I found a new player had arrived in the zone on our side. He had bought the commander title (now 100g), and had started laying out siege engines like candy with each battle, including golems which are 1g a piece. He paid for every keep upgrade at our two main keeps leading up to Stonemist and put up arrow carts, cannons, mortars, and a trebuchet as defensive weapons. on the walls.
The end result was that although we were heavily outnumbered still vs. the blue server which was another full server we were able to smash through the walls of Stonemist several times and nearly took it. When we were eventually driven back, the enemy players came into range out of newly fortified keeps and were slaughtered by the dozens and forced to retreat, even though they had larger numbers. The fight was still going on when I logged off so I'm not sure where it will end.
The end result was through the actions of one player who was buying gems and changed them into gold (current rate is 50silver per 100gems), my server was able to move into second place and threaten the main keep in the Eternal Battlegrounds.
This was posted earlier by Danitakusor and does a good enough job of explaining it, also do research on just about any game that has a CS...after release magically things change, prices go up new items that are out of balance are put in.
It's just a fact, and I was specifically commenting to someone who said that it wasn't a p2w...so I corrected him.

Complete BS, the one that needs to do research is you. Smite, dota 2, HoN, LoL Tribes ascend, Planetside 2(in the future), end of nations, firefall, DC universe. I can go on for a little longer but its pretty ovious you are talking out of your ass.
You use a games from the "future" and I'm talking out of MY ass lol....and I said "just about any game" the few you mentioned are an extremely small percentage of the cs games out there.
Fail
Thats because im only considering the good games, if you put side by side Good CS games that are pay to win and Good CS games that are not pay to win then their numbers are about the same.
You can go ahead and count all those 3rd rate games that no one plays and no one cares about that are from weak companies that have no inflluence in the industry.
Fact is companies are moving heavily away from the pay to win model, its all the buzz right now. The first thing a company mentions after they say their games are free to play is that they have zero pay to win.
You didnt see this when Allods, maplestory, runes of magic or any perfect world game was announced.
You are living in the past.
Ohhh so you decide the "good" games huh? Interesting, you have no ability to critically think and are obviously a bit of a narcissist...wich seems all to common on these forums.
And LoL is a joke, it's a moba game not a mmo....apples and oranges my friend
I dont decide anything, the community does.
I agree that LoL is a joke, ive seen that the vast majority of players suck at any other moba on the market.
We are discussing cash shops and pay to win here.
If games as simple as mobas can become insanely profitable without being pay to win, then games like mmorpgs that are far more complex have it way easier.
Its just that developers used to take the easy way out and just give better stats in the cs, that fortunately is changing.
I know a few people on here (I will not mention their names) that bashed GW2 on these forums and are now switching over. hehe

Ok, so technically, someone bought Gems from the cash shop and sold them on the auction house for in-game money. Are you saying the Gems gave him the advantage or people who paid him in-game coin for the Gems did? As someone else, Mattvid I believe, pointed out in another thread. The cash shops have no control over what a player does, so this "P2W" transaction is nothing other than what WoW players do when buying gold from RMT gold farmers. So in "REALITY"... whether a game has a cash shop or not, "RICH" folks are going to be better than you, hahaha.
Sorry, but the fact your little friend upgraded all your keeps by himself doesn't really mean much to me. Unless you have enough people to defend them all, who cares. Upgraded keeps don't make them impenetrable. So, however much "REAL" money this guys spent to do that for something that doesn't give a "PERMANENT" advantage is rather a poor investment in my eyes.
Especially when I could afford siege weapons just fine within the first day of playing. Yes, I know, you made 12 silver. I'm sorry to tell you, I barely even played on Friday and some on Saturday and still managed to get to 20 and have about 50 silver in my pocket. Making coin in GW2 isn't going to be hard, so this epic story of "SIEGE OVERLOAD" is well, kind of pointless.
Exactly.
I will concede that "big spenders" may find some advantages early on, while everyone is low level and earning crap from game play. As people get higher in level, get more playtime under their belts and earn a lot more per hour of play, being able to afford blueprints, upgrades, etc... won't be a problem for the population in general.
It won't be long before lack of money stops being a limiter of what each server can do in WvW.
Also, as has been pointed out, none of these things equate to winning. Some guy plopping down $250 on gems won't win anything with out the armies of players that participate in WvW. I'm sure knowing he would get those gems back for launch made it easier to justify, just to see what one could do with a large amount of gems. People spend $200 for a life time sub, so I'm sure some people will pay $200 for gems instead, for a game with no sub fee. However, someone would have to be an idiot to spend all those gems to gain some very short term advantage in WvW during the opening days of the game.
If the worst someone can do with a few hindred dollars is give their server a bit of an advantage during the opening days, when lack of money in the economy amplifies the advantages of wealth, then it's pretty easy to say this game is NOT pay to win.
well having the option to exchange gold for gems , and gems for gold is a nice idea
i for1 will farm gold like no tommorrow to buy some gems and purchase another char slot (i need to have all the classes!) and 5 slots arent enough so yeah....

I got a beta ket for theis last weekend and I fell for the game, hook line and sinker. Had a complete blast and really connected wit hthe art style and gameplay mechanics.
So, although i was never a hater, I certainly did a 180 this past weekend and am now a big fan of this game.
I refuse to even look at GW2 streams. What a pathetic excuse for a company to be doing "OPEN BETA" testing events. Beta testing events should just vanish unless its a f2p game where open beta means its released becauseyou can buy friggin items from there but noooooooo not games like GW2.
Im going to do the proper thing as a gamer and buy it at release, play it, THEN I will say how much I hated it with passion and whatnot.

In all fairness, there is a market there for it so why not take advantage? It is really the sensible thing to do from a business perspective. I can't blame them for doing what many other companies have done and frankly I would do myself in this day and age.
It is a viable marketing tool and considering many will pay to gain access why the hell not?

I wasn't on the hating train, after playing the beta i realised i wasted my money.. this game was so boring for me, everyone running like a zombie from one event to another without even realiseng what is going on around them. The graphic is not very good.. and i wasn't impresed by the art design. overall i had a bad experience and i uninstalled and never look at it again.
