i was thinking if trying daoc for first ever time but I feel overwhelmed by all the add-ons and main game to learn it all from such a late date for a new player.
I quit wow bored after lvl 60, in swg but tha s starting to stink.
its either daoc or uo.....
What uou guys think? am i too late to really get into daoc and enjoy the conten and catch up with everyone?
I also hear the europe servers are duying.....what you guys think??
is there a digital download of it at all?

If you like team based pvp this is your game. If you like quests for either soloing or groups this is your game. My advice to you is download the 14 day trial and buy Catacombs. Once you hit level 6 you can start pvp in an instanced zone designed just for a level range of 6-10. I haven't tried the Catacombs expansion but I heard that it speeds up the grind a bit. Plus you won't find imature people getting it on like in WoW. Also, Mythic created Classic servers because some people didn't like the Trials of Atlantis expansion. ToA is really aimed at level 50's to give them something to do besides pvp and craft. The Catacombs can be enabled on Classic servers though. DAoC is probably the best full game out right now. PvP, Solo and group content, Crafting, Good Story, and every class has some sort of weakness to another class.
Example: The Vampiir class of Hibernia can hold its own against 3 other melee classes but a Mercenary using two blunt weapons can win a fight almost 90% of the time.

The download includes the original game, all of the free expansions, and the first retail expansion. You can also upgrade the graphics with that as well.
What you will be mising is Trials and Atlantis and Catacombs. You will need to buy them seperately. If you play on the Classic servers you will not need ToA. The Classic servers are probably the best place for new players anyway.
So if you want all of the expansions including ToA I would suggest you wither download the trial and buy Catacombs or go buy the Platnium Edition and Catacombs.
If you choose to do the download and just buy Catacombs but think you might want ToA now or later, then do not worry about it now. They are working on ways to sell the expansions via download. Or around the end of Octobert they are coming out with a new box set that will everything in it including the expansion that is being released Oct. 11.

i be on a europe server with 14 day trail, help me if you can but most iof all you sure 14day downloasd has everything except cata or atlantis?
if i can use this 14 day account as my main account then i buy cata and play fully if not then i wont, dont wanna lvl u[ a char to just loose it.
oh do alot players still play this in uk? or is it dead?

The trial I believe only works on US servers. The EU version is run by another company. You should check out these sites for info

This will also give you the free trial for the EU.
Lastly, when you get a trial to any mmorpg that will require a subscription fee you need to have a CC in order to activate the account. You will not be charged, that is just how it works but I will not go into the many good reasons why. If you do not like that, then you should probably avoid any free trials for any game.
yes i got the usa one and used cc dam it!!!! had to cancel staright away hope my cc wont get cvharged as they say at end they charge to continue play.
im now getting europe trail that dont need a cc.. but from looks of things this gamse dead in europe only 560 on server and not 1 good uk/europe community site.
stratics dont even surrport it.

As long as you cancelled before the trial period was up it won't charge the account.
And you are also more than welcome to play on the US servers if that is your preference. You would probably have better connectivity and less lag issues playing on a local server but if you had your heart set on playing on the US servers there is nothing preventing you from doing so.

I bought the game and skipped the trial. Despite the 1 free month they charged me as soon I typed in my credit card so I would not trust them to not charge during the 14 day trial.
The company behind DAoC in europe sucks. They cheat you and hide behind a non refund policy and claim you payed it yourself and it was not automatic.
I sugest you wait until DnL released in a few months or some of the other games.
I am a fan of DnL, but I think that spreading lies does little to make people want to play DnL. You alligations are unclear as to if you are talking about GoA or Mythic. I doubt what you say is true with GOA and I know it isn't for Mythic. Please go support your game and stop lying to people.

Humm, well it can be worth it. I think that DaOC is pretty cool in many respects, PVP is exciting and it offers you the chance before even the endgame.
It all depends on what your seeking, I think there are a lot of roleplay +'s in this game.

I left DAoC to play WoW but have returned as I felt WoW was really lacking any decent PvP aspect. I would still say today that DAoC has the best PvP content I've seen today with its Realm v Realm setup. Keep takes and Keep defending is what keeps me coming back.
Oh, and I'm a UK'er playing the US servers which I would highly recommend doing because of the higher populations. The main patches are a bit annoying though as they can last until 5pm due to the time difference but all in all I'd recommend the US servers.

Actually it happend both for my gf and I and please dont accuse me for lying. I get my money back but end of it I stopped to play after that week. I cant see whats wrong in recommend an alternative which DnL seems to be. Realm vs realm PvP and not a 5 years old game.

Maybe the difference is I bought the game in europe. Below is the link they reply to me twice until I gave up and contacted my bank instead to get refund. My gf got exactly same treatment and her bank refunded the money. I could post the dialog with the support but I choose not at this time.

We are not saying the game is bad but rather the company wanadoo fran is not being very honest. When we 1st got the game we were ask to fill up the registration form. In which we did giving our credit card and all the necessary information as we trusted them.

We understand is a free trail for 1 month but nothing in the box say that we had to pay in advance and then when I wrote to them they say there is no refund? I had to ask my bank to take action. One week later we were bill and when I wrote to them they say we did the billing manually?
Why would anyone want to pre pay 1 month ahead for a game when is a free trail for a month? And we only started 1 week (on the free trail) and we were already charge?PLS Take NOTE of the DATE I had blank out my email and address for privacy, I hope you understand. If you want to play I suggest you register in the American site at least they are honest. They did not even apologies well I expect that typical of this people attitude as I have very bad experience with National carrier in the past as well.My point is if you notice the dates from the time we register to the time they bill us is Less then a month during the "free trail" period

It does and it doesn't. Let me put it this way Catacombs will have all of the files you need. But if you have not activated ToA then you will not be able to get to those zones.
You will still have access to the new races.
It depends on what you have purchased. There is either the "pure" addon (~30 Euros) for those who already have all other expansions and there is also the whole "package" including everything from "classic" daoc over SI, ToA to Catacombs (somethnig like 45 Euros).
So, in the unlikely case that you own both classic and SI daoc, but not ToA and you only bought the catacombs expansion, then the answer of course is: no, ToA is not included.
Personally I'm waiting til 10/11/05 for epic edition to come out, only 29.99 for all the expansions.. I can't wait to come back
