Keg Brawl Rules
Two teams of five are matched for a game. Each team gets skills which allow them to brawl the other team, such as punching, kicking and knocking each other over. A keg is launched into the middle of the playing area and the objective for the team is to get the keg to their 'brewer'. The aim is to get as many kegs back as they can and the team with the most wins.
When the keg is picked up you get new skills which allow you to pour ale on the ground which makes it slippery or pass the keg. The passing of the keg is ground targeted so there is some skill involved as these passes can be intercepted. Players not carrying a keg are granted swiftness.
I quite enjoyed doing this mini game with friends in the last beta, the game looks something like rugby or American football http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mVIzI8RLuY

Can anyone say Huttball?
just the word huttball makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth.
While I can understand why you might think so...we've known about keg brawl and the main points of the game for at least a year and a half maybe even two years. Just like we already know the names and basic aspects of other minigames like the Snowball fight, the Target Shoot-Out, the Bar Brawl (including some of the rewards from the game), Polymock, and some basics on a number of other games (ex. the mini golem shooting game).
I didn't get to play the beta so I don't know if it's interesting enough but do you think players will be making "pro" keg brawl teams?

Why did Marceline's dad eat her fries? I mean...cause she bought them and they were hers...
From the looks of it, I say yea. When you dont feel like doing sPvP, do some keg brawl. I can almost guarantee Anet will make a tourny for it. They are awesome like that.
BOOYAKA!
I think that'd be awesome. Are their any rewards when you win a match?

I didn't notice any specific rewards from playing in the beta version but Anet have talked about minigame rewards in the past. The example I recall deals with the Bar Brawl minigame where players gain tokens in the form of opponents knocked out teeth that they then take to the neighborhood dentist for cosmetic rewards.
Also Anet has a history of holding tournaments for organized teams to compete in their minigames. Though these tournaments are typically only held at certain times of the year (ex. the Snoball fight tournament held during the Wintersday holiday event).
I played a couple matches and it was a lot of fun. BTW, it's nothing like Huttball and, as others said, they were talking about this activity a long time before TOR and Huttball.
As to rewards, you do have a progress bar that fills up and seems to have it's own set of levels. It looked like the same bar you have for sPvP participation, but I'm not positive it is the same. I didn't delve into sPvP or WvW much at all during beta, so I can't even speculate on how mini-games might or might not intertwine with the alternative rewards paths for those parts of the game.

In BWE3 the rewards were not for winning matches but for achievements. There's achievements for how many times you stole the keg, how many matches you won, how many times you scored etc.
If there won't be any rewards added at launch I hope they'll split the achievements over daily / weekly ones and monthly ones.
Sure, I can say it... what's your actual point?
Huttball is way different in hutball you have a floating ball around your head like a cheap porno(my opinion) while you run to the enemys spwan to cross the goal to get a point. It has traps, obsticles, and well passes. Also It's completely random.
Kegbawl changes out all of your skills, while you fight to grab a barrel of ale back to your base to get a point. No balls near your mount, no magic lightning coming from somone with the keg, just a down and out brawl.
So while you have trolled every gw2 post without even playing the game while promoting a dieng game like a ff14 fan It doesnt matter. No one on a gw2 forum cares about swtor they are not the same game. Im sorry you only have 12/100+ server and 2 of your pvp servers can be merged again already. when mega servers come out you guys will only have 2 anyway. Please goto another forum to troll.
exactly
Keggball is not full character PvP, it gives the character a whole new sets of abbilities and is a mini game... on top of al, this mini game fits the setting very well. And it is just great fun.
So what about those other 29 promissed mini games? Beetle bug racing? Polymog?

I hope they keep some of the mini games seasonal.
OMG this game has kegs? It's such a WoW clone!
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
Why, it would be awfull if your favourite minigame is only available for 2 weeks a year

Another fun thing mentioning...
Did you know that GW2 announced and described Keg Brawl long long time before SWTOR announced Huttball.

Because they would get boring. Waiting for the snowball AT's on Guild Wars 1 was worth the wait and so were the rewards, same with the minipets you could get polar bear and beetle etc. Keeping them availabe for a limited time only keeps them fresh.
Snowballs and such things could be seasonal,
But i dont see any reason to keep the big minigames like Polymock, Keg Brawl, Beetlebug racing, and probably a few others seasonal... only the small season related games should be seasonal, but none other.
I even hope that people can get their own competitions/tournaments started in things like Keg Brawl

But at least its not part of a random PvP battle ground match like SWTOR in which you are forced to play. Its just a mini game in the Norn city Halbrok. Its actually allot more fun than huttball.
Anet already stated that they wanted to do seasonal events but that they're a bit harder to do them well than in GW1 lore wise because there's now severla playable races instead of just humans.
I imagine that when they start doing them there might also be minigames involved though special DE's would imo even be cooler because it's open world and you enjoy the actual action with a large group of players then instead of just a select group spread over 2 teams.
