yup they can get boring tedious, well of course they do. No matter you come back wasted away and weak. Well all i can say is that they better have a more original MMORPG. Why not put some Wetland Winged Goblins in a game eh?

On second thought why not make some Desert Strife Elven Reconaissance or even Undead Dark Paladin/Warlock Half-Giants. I WANT SOME FLYIN' MOUNTAINS! Nah just a castle that was build by vultures and rats....

All I can understand is that your saying "MMORPG's today are unoriginal". Might as well slap a big "OMG OBVIOUS" sticker on this thread. If possible, please convey your thoughts in a more fluent way. Thank you.
I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.
Maybe someone needs to make a LSD-online MMORPG for you.
Where you can wander through a field of purple umbrellas and stop to smell a beautifull umbrella but then it sprouts a green tigers head and bites at you and you run away across a chocolate bridge which melts beneath you and you fall into a tiny bowl of jello which grows and grows untill it's bigger than the world and then it tips...oh my God!...tips over and you're sliding out into space with the jello which has turned into a great seething mass of snakes and they are biting you and constricting around your neck and....then you wake up in gutter with your pants around your ankles wondering what happened last night and where are you and why is it raining suntan lotion and then you remember that you forgot to log off so you race home to your computer but your house is upside down but you climb up/down to your computer and camp your character...only to find that what you actually did was log in but your late for work/school so you log off....and wake up in a gutter with your pants around your ankles wondering what happened and where you are and....

WOW. Period. What can i say? This is nice. Period. Nice
The problem is few original mmo's are reaping the rewards. Games like MxO and Time of Defiance(MMORTS) (id mention SWG but id face some resistance to that) are slowly losing players, while all the cookie cutter korean mmo's have the highest # of players. Im not saying all original mmo's are failures, b/c i liked planetside and City of Heroes (although b/c of its success both the xbox 360 and PS3 are getting online superhero games). Maybe neocron, it cant be that bad, it has a sequel.
Also another problem is that its hard to come up with an mmo that caters to all the styles of gameplay people like and will pay for. Sure you've got your own idea for the best mmo ever, but when you really start looking at how the community would work, anything annoying like lack of seeing people in game, etc. you realize that no one would pay for it.
Ive played the major commercial 1's that are out atm and much like everyone else cannot seem to find 1 that is intriguing and worth my time.
Granted as ive grown into my life and family ive less time than i used to have so ive decided to stop wasting my time on these games.Sure the idea of a virtual world where 5000 or more players inhabit the same existence is a great idea but the problem is in developing a GOOD idea out of it.
Currently im on my PS2 and Freelancer for the PC and im having more fun than i ever did having to put up with other players whom i would never meet anyway.I get into the game right away and get to race or explore for an hour or so and accomplish more than i ever did in a mmo.
I seriously doubt that i will ever return to the mmo genre altogether unless they come up with a truly original concept beyond what is offered now or in the next year.
MMO's are a waste of time.
The bigger question is who is it a BIGGER waste of time for?A kid between the ages of 13 and 18 or a adult between the ages of 30 and 50?

i tried
Shadowbane seeing i liked everything it said about the game.
but the user interface was so point and click. i can not get back in to a game like that.
its a diablo type of game and i want one that plays like SWG, EQ and EQ2 the interface.
i want to be able to look around and run around like in a FPS also beable to zoom out in 3rd person.
i did not like haveing to hold down a botton to play but it was better then not being able to at all.
i think i toggel key would be better. like SWG when in space.
clicking to run to a spot. ok but let me run ther too.
NWN was so messed up when you tried to set it up like EQ and SWG. everything was lagged out. and just sucked.
that all Shadowbane needs is a better user interface. to get me to play.
the grafix need a big update but for a killer PVP game i would live with bad grafix.
its just got to have a better user interface.
