I am a die hard World of Warcraft player and have never found any game that compares. But I have an open mind and am downloading the free trial now. I just wanted to hear some opinions of other people that play WOW and play DAoC and see what there comments are.

Well to start they are very different games. I played DAoC for over a year and I played it solid meaning for months and months at a time. I have played WoW since it came out and I have to say that while WoW has cool graphics and is faster paced and stuff, I have trouble playing it for months at a time. I seem to play it a month, then get bored and not play for like 3 months. I'm currently on the verge of reactivating DAoC so we'll see if I play it months at a time again or not.
Personally I think DAoC is a better game and since they will finally have personal controllable mounts like WoW it will be even better. One reason I think DAoC is better than WoW is there are more classes available compared to WoW and more importantly each class has a special importance. For instance In DAoC if your going to raid a large amount of mobs well your going to need a Sorcerer so he can control the crowd and help keep the mobs off the healer. Clerics in DAoC would pretty much just heal in a group and so on and so fourth, in WoW all the caster classes seem to be hybrids and I think thats annoying, but you know what, that makes WoW easier and thats why the game has 4 million subscribers.
I don't know, they are both wonderful games but DAoC seems to have more meaning and stuff for me.
After playing WoW for 6 months, I got seriously bored and general channel is just chat room spam, waaay too much griefing of each other then griefing the griefers...*sigh*. Even levelling alts became a chore, WoW makes that easy even being on a PvP server. Kill mob, get loot, if grey sell, if not think about selling or use it. It hardly stretches the brain, think Diablo 2 and hey you even have the same mature community! Such an item-driven game, still if that what people want nowadays.
Hmm WoW or DAoC, it really depends on how much into PvP you are since they are handled very differently in each game, if thats not your main concern then Im sure each has its pro's/cons for you, what you like. Trials are never a good indication of a 'good' game, if you want any questions answered just pop over to the WoW forum, Im sure you will find them a friendly bunch ("OMG LOL NOOB I IZ L33T").
I understand totally what you mean Johnboat about DAoC having more. My own personal opinion, and is just that an opinion, is that PvP in WoW is stupidly unbalanced, druids are the next class to be "improved", Blizzard have a lot of tweaking to do, they have already changed warlock, hunter and warrior classes quite markedly with regards to some talents.
Play what you like, you may not like it, most important thing is to have fun and remember you are paying for that fun no-one else is.
Double posting.

I think daoc would be alot funner game then wow if they had more noobs to play with, Im trying the 14 day trial now and its kinda empty, you run across a few but not alot. I played wow and it is fun for a while but got boring, not enough classes for me. Daoc has plenty of classes to choose from is what I like about it.
As far as the community in daoc being more mature than wow I am personally not seeing it, I ask a question and they tell you stfu and other stuff. Even eq2 they talk like they have a more mature community, go read their forums lol, very mature.
