I would like to add to that, I am looking for a game I can play with my wife since her other family members play it.
I would like a game that we can play together and enjoy. I just need something I can log into and have fun with while I am able to play.
I like Medevil type settings and so forth, I would really like to have a strong character one who was able to solo and farm cash and other items for crafting and so forth.
With the reasons stated ; yes this game would be something for you!
You will be able to log in and play with your wife, her family and any friends you have/get.
Most content can be easily soloed (all the way up to max lvl minus instances and a little more) and there are plenty of places where you can solo and farm for both cash and items required for tradeskills.
Only thing to beware is if you really want to play with your wife, is that this game is questbased all the way up and its easy to get get ahead/behind friends, meaning that you either wont be able to play together or will have to make the same quests twice.
Im not a WoW fan myself, but if you are the casual player you sound like, I think you'll like this (for a while at least)
Yes it is worth the money, I used to spend ten to twenty bucks on NES and super NES games every two or three weeks, hehe still have quite a collection, anyways I haven't bought a new game since the first day of wow meening that I've saved around 200$.
Yes its worth it for both types of players, casual and hardcore. Casual players can play this game for years. Hardcore players can play this for 1-3 months, although i have hardcore players that play this for 6-8 months non stop. Even so, I believe 40$ is worth it to play 2-3 months.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

I belive 40 quids is way to much to spend on a casual game if you are a hardcore player. 2-3 months is waste of time that could have been spend in some game with more highend content.
If you ask me: it is worth the money ... As you see, the game never gets old. Already from now there have been major changes and adds to the game. Like getting a new version of the same game every month ...
