Do you have your own god?

I was just wondering if anyone have there own god? Like, do you beleive in you own personal god(s) or a more know one like the christian's god (knowtice low case g). I beleive in my own personal gods. Well, not gods per say, but like an energy with a conscious, that was created along with the universe, as odd as that sounds. I like to call one the god of freedom, and the other one the god science. There is no gender by the way.

I believe in a God that is the Catholic/Christian/Judaic/Muslim/ etc. God, but since God is an omnipotent being, I believe he has no physical manifestation. Because of this, I inject my onw personality in the God that I believe in. For instance, I believe God has a sense of humor, maybe not one totally like mine, but one that can find humor in things nonetheless.

We Catholics are the one and only true Religion! Muwhahahahaha The rest of you will burn on the 4th plane of Hell while we're up in heaven with the 79 Virgins! Uhhhhhh wait...Darn!...The Muslims have the patent on the Virgin thingy.

But seriously I'm hoping that we ,the good folks that make up this community, try and be nice about this subject. It's possible to give our views in a manner that doesnt offend.

And to the original beginner of this thread: No, I don't have my own God. God has me. He's not a personal possession.

My religion is Mankind

I have never felt the need to explain away the great and ghastly things we do and pass off the responsibility and the credit to some allegedly omnipotent power from outer space.

I believe man is, was and will always be in complete control of his own destiny. We often get it completely wrong, but when we get it right the results are spectacular. I often wish I was being born like just now. Not because I want to be young, but because I am so in love with science and technology that I desperately want to see us make it into space for real.

"Lets see whats out there"

I believe the current trend toward abbrogation of moral and ethical responsibility of action is the root cause of both islamic terrorism and extreme right wing christianity. If we could accept that we are in control and not the play things of some external power who bids us to do whatever. We would never be able to react in the inhumane ways we react to each other in terms of war, poverty and social injustice that we do because we do it in the name of "God"

Far from sharing the religious persons view that ethics and morals are tied to and stem from religion I have always felt and I am certian of it now, that religion provides excuses and justifications for the abscence of and turning away from ethics and morals.

Believe in yourself, believe in your fellow man, God is not required.
