Another Hurricane =(

Well, I hope this one fizzles up and dies before it hits the coast. Doubtfull, but I hope that anyone with the means to get out of the Texas Gulf Coast area do so tonight.

I do have some pictures of past hurricanes that hit this area and I think they will follow the same path, which sucks because I can't leave and am in the way.

And here is the projected path for Rita, which is expected to hit the coast as a catergory 4 storm.

It's expected to be a category 3 when it hits?

Aparently rita has hit the 150mph mark with 930mb(Forgot the 0) pressure something making it stronger as it goes. I also think that the 93pressure thing is the lowest recorded so far. I gott his information just a couple mins ago from watching foxnews. It seems to be getting strong by the hours. I was at 140 and now at 150. It will probably (or already is) a catagory 5.

I have heard this too, it is at a category 4 right now atm...  With Katrina just over a month ago, we are already to Rita!  Damn!  Since the hurricane naming system is alphabetical, that means we have seen 6 hurricanes in just over a month!  Obviously none of these made any news or landfall, but that is a lot of hurricane activity...

On a side note, that is probably the most funny signature I have ever seen Sidebuster...

No, most of it is well above sea-level...  New Orleans I believe is the lowest city in the US that is below sea level...  We won't see another Katrina like occurance if this hit Texas, but it will be damaging nonetheless...

Houston is the fourth largest city in the US, and having a city of that size ravaged by natural disaster will provide for interesting economic outcomes.

So in response to your statement, it sucks for you too...

Sucks for America.  I couldn't agree more.  Leave it to Bush Jr. to keep funding a war we don't need right now when we have bigger fish to fry.

Djin, this is not a political thread. And should be kept that way. Please leave any political rhetoric out of THIS thread.

Yes, this will most definitely suck. Thankfully for myself though, I live in northern texas and by the time it gets to us, it will either be a tropical storm or tropical depression. Although if it ravages Houston, none of us will be out of the "wake" of the hurricane.

Man, North Texas is getting lots of visitors right now. If I had a car I would go there too, except you cannot find a hotel in the D-FW area.

I am able to post what I want where I want if it falls under the guidelines of the forum rules.

    Thank you.

I was just saying thanks for our President we aren't going to have the proper funds for another hurricane.  So before you comeuppance me, I would take it that you look into what I'm trying to say.

I never had any attentions for a hostle post or even a thought of political thread untill you decided to flex your muscles in here at me.

You had no intentions for a hostile post, but then you make fun of an entire country?
Maybe you should make a post that doesnt put the blame on an entire country when almost half the country didnt vote for the person you hate.

Jeese, people make a big deal out of such a small thing..

I don't see what was so wrong about Djin's post. It's not like he went into detail about what Bush is doing wrong or what he hates about the country.

I made a point about our current President, how is that making fun of our country?
I don't know if that means you like our President or dislike him, either or I wasn't making fun of the country, just the fact that our President has higher issues in another part of the world then having the correct state of mind about his home country.
Plus someone that has 3 post and is brand new, don't even talk to me...
    Thank you newblet

Yes, someone said "America Rocks" (Sarcasm)

I should of known that you were talking about one individual person and not relating to the entire "America" that was in your statement.

Not exactly sure what you were trying to say with the "newblet" phrase. I can think of two possible reasons.

    1) Trying to discredit my opinion without alluding to the actual point.
    2) Try and make me feel bad for not posting as much as you.

    Both are so very sorry.

Jayhizzle, just give it up. There's no point in starting a flame war over nothing. My views and points on my home country has nothing to do with you.

Yes, i'm the one who wanted to start the flame war, i'm the one who made general bland statements such as "Sucks for them" and "America Rocks (Sarcasm)"

    I've given it up.

you effectivly hijacked this thread with the pointless political post

You obivously have no idea how an economic system works. Please leave the US if it is so horrible. If you can't stand it just leave.

I can't help but laugh when people BLAME hurricanes, storms, etc. on whoever is the president for that 4-year term.

Yes, President Bush is sitting in the Oval Office CONTROLLING THE WEATHER.  Because he has NOTHING BETTER TO DO.

But anyways, we've had 2 tiny tornadoes touch down here in California this year...TORNADOES IN CALIFORNIA?
And 2 hurricanes in a few weeks?
And all this other crap that's going on?

    The apocalypse is coming.

Man, what a way to ruin my day.

No one has blamed Bush on the hurricanes, however they do blame him for his lack of iniative in rescue. Find the hick article claiming that Bush is causing the hurricanes and I will explain to you why modern man is so self-reliant on the government.

Well, I see that the people in my neighborhood have evacuated and much of the trafic trying to bypass a big chunk of the freeway has driven by me. I was out of cell phone usage for 3 hours because of the amount of people in the area.

I think the majority of people are pretty scared. I am one of the dumb asses sticking it out though. You guys should've seen the 40-something cars at the gas station with 8 pumps. I went inside a local gorcery store and all of the dry goods were gone(cereal, candy, canned goods, etc) all bread was gone and all water and juice were gone.

You can't even book a hotel or motel anywhere in Texas right now, except maybe far west Texas. I'm not worried about the hurricane itself, but the flooding that will happen on Sunday and Monday. I am going to try to post here on this thread and on my web-log about what is going on. I don't have a digital camera, but I will post pics once I get my film developed.

Catergory 5 hurricanes are big deals, it doesn't get much bigger. Katrina was only a 3(?) when it hit NOLA.
I hope everyone stays safe and I will provide some wierd insight on what goes through someones head when faced with a gigantic natural disaster.

If I don't post here on Friday then the lights have gone out and I will try to get my brother in Dallas to post for me.
